A blend of 33% Petrus Aged Pale, pure barrel aged beer that has been aged for two years in oak barrels, and 67% young brown beer. In this blend, the young dark beer contributes the reddish-brown colour and the Aged Pale contributes the slightly sour flavour. Petrus Roodbruin is a typical Flemish red ale as tradition dictates.

This is 50% a flemish sour ale, and 50% a Belgian Brown, I suppose. It lacks a lot of the contrasting sweet/tartness that I love so much about the Flemish Sour style. Anyway, a pleasant drink nonetheless, with a hint of the Belgian funkiness, and a tad mild.

330ml bottle from Good Spirits Co. Wine & Beer, Glasgow (£2.80):

Quite a pleasant & lively beer with some nice tart & sourness showing despite it being quite a dark looking beer & there was some earthy malts in there too. It was a balanced offering that had nice complexity to it & a nice combination of summer fruits & berries that complimented the caramel malts well. It probably wasn't as enjoyable an offering as the brewery's Petrus Aged Pale & I doubt it's a beer that I'd rush back to but I enjoyed it while I was drinking it & don't have many complaints about the beer really.

Kolor: Brązowy, nieprzejrzyste.
Piana: Zbyt obfita, gęsta, oblepia szkło.
Zapach: Nutki dzikie, drewniane, karmelowe.
Smak: Lekko kwaśnawe, wodniste. Zboże, drewno, trawiasty chmiel. Goryczka niska.

Cuerpo ligero-medio.

Dark brown coloured beer with a medium beige head. Aroma of cherries and some fruit. Flavor is dark fruit, grape and juicy. Medium palate.

Pours a clear, dark ruby red/brown colour with thin head. Aroma is a complex blend of roasted malts, some caramel and raisins and a balsamic vinegar like sourness. It's almost wine-like. Taste again is a blend - acidic tartness, caramel maltiness and sherry-like notes. A real mix of sweet and sour flavours. Crisp, dry finish. Enjoyable beer.

Malt sweet aroma of dates, prunes & red berries. Clear brown with a long lasting brown head. Intense sweet taste of red berries. Light body, creamy texture & average carbonation.

Kita (2267) - Koper, SLOVENIA - OCT 28, 2017
Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of musty cellar, yeast, vinegar, wine marc and red fruit. Pours clear ruby brown with thin quickly diminishing creamy off-white head and sparkling appearance. Tastes light sour fruity and yeasty, follows by oak and light sweet malty notes, mouthfeel is crisp, while no bitterness is felt at finish. Light to medium body, light sticky texture and lively carbonation in palate. This one's a bit too sweet for my liking...
