COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark ruby red red as wine. The style is also called the Burgundy of Flanders, and is a very typical and common beer in West Flanders
Created by a secret blend of the aged and sour mother beer with fresh brewed sweeter beer, this beer produces a sour-sweet balance, set off by the underlying bitterness of the hops. A discovery! The best in its style! Light in alcohol, exciting complex flavors and tastes come to the forefront.
Although serving cold is recommended, taking time to drink it will release more aromas towards the end of your glass.

Nice head and beutiful color. Lacks the fruity sourness of the other Belgian sour ales. Flat dry finish.

Pours a semi clear dark burgundy brown with a tan head of foam. Medium carbonation with some lacing. Crisp, tart, fruity aroma. Crisp tingly full mouth feel. Light tart and sour but not overpowering. Fairly thin body with a clean finish. Flavor falls a little flat and dry and doesnt linger much in the aftertaste. Fairly refreshing and enjoyable but not great.

Flesje gedeeld door Joep. Roodbruin helder bier met redelijk schuim. Aroma is iets zuur en kruidig. Smaak is zurig als een geuze. De smaak blijft heel even op de tong maar ebt redelijk snel weg.

Aroma faint, traces of vanilla. Taste only mildly acidic with a distinct candi sugar overtone. A bit watery towards the end.

My absolute favourite when it comes to Flemish sour red brown ales. Extremely refreshing!

Modest tartness with a moderately sweet Belgian front. Little sour peeps in the middle, popping up like a groundhog fearing his shadow, continuing to fret well into the deep caramel fade. Good, then bland, then pretty good. You can find better Petrus.

Bottle; pours mostly clear brown with a khaki colored head; malty aroma with caramel, biscuit, some brown sugar and a hint of vinegar; taste is tart with caramel, cherries as well as slightly hints of vinegar, oak and some red wine; finish dry and has a touch of tart cherry

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2016 Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a dark ruby red color and allows a low lying almost transparent red color. Fingers worth of white foamy head started and dissipated gently. Concave film of lace clings to the sides nicely. The aroma starts off with the cask dry woodiness, allows Belgian sugars to permeate nicely-all up in there. Light apple, some cherry. The flavor leads with the woodiness and the sweetness of the cherry. Apple is far underneath. Tame sweet woody dry semi-medicinal aftertaste. Quick sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Medicinal qualities smooth a lot of this out without any expected sour to even make an effort to make a presence. Weird. Overall, Im left scratching my beard. Is this really a Flanders Oud Bruin? If so, well, its probably the smoothest most indiscrete sour flavored FOB I ever had. Its definitely a starter for the style, but some of those medicinal qualities do distract from the style, I have to admit that. I wish I could find a date.
