Gouden Tripel. 750ml with a glass to match. Explosive opening, huge foamy white head (as pictured), with great lacing over a clear yellow body. Aroma is sweet, and slightly spiced, real bready, dried pear, with some aged champagne notes. Taste is sweet, a bit musky, vinegar, pear, cobwebs, tangerine, and bread. Lively bubbles, dry mouthfeel.

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2017 Bought from Lidl and found it to be a half decent triple . Cloudy golden with a hoppy taste

Lovely carbonation and texture saves a triple really lacking in complexity. Its dry with some sharpness but no real interesting quality. Drinkable and hides is abv well but I expect more from a Tripel

Thanks Hrabren! Poured a hazy golden body with a lasting white head. Light phenolic touches, herbal, malty background. Quite subdued. While the aroma hints, the taste confirms that it's not the greatest of Tripels. Meaty notes, light orange, on top of prickly carbonation. Quite disappointing.

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2017 0.33 l bottle thanks to my family. Shared with everyone. Hazy golden, medium off-white head. Yeasty. Light dusty. Sweet, overwhelming. Lousy. Medium body, sticky, warming, light finish.

Light golden with white, thin head. Aroma weak, some yeastines. The yeast is stronger in taste, foloowed by fruitiness and some bitterness at the end.

Bottle, 0.33l. 8% ANV. Clear copper pour, one finger soapy white head with medium retention. Subtle nose, some herbal notes, a bit bubblegum. Yeast, hops, touch of alcohol.

Medium body, slightly aggressive carbonation. Very fizzy. Regular texture. Bittersweet taste with slight alcohol burn. Aroma of yeast, caramel malts, grassy hops. Slight bubblegum, a bit herbal. Decent alcohol presence, slightly drying mouthfeel. Lasting finish, bitter, dry and boozy.

Overall, pretty good tripel. Not great, but quite decent nonetheless. Tasty.

Copenhagen 29/9 2017. 75 cl bottle from Meny. As "Petrus Gouden Tripel". Happy golden Monk in ecstasy over a beer and what looks like a huge golden key on the label. I can understand that it is the "Key to Heaven". Pours slightly hazy light yellow with huge bubbly white head and lively carbonation. Settles as 1 cm thick layer of fluffy foam covering the surface of the beer. Lacing on the side of the glass. Aroma is weak. Light malty sweetness, grassy and a little grainy. A little sourness and alcohol in the background. Not what I would expect from a Tripel. Medium carbonation and slightly thick palate. Flavor is medium sweet followed by light sour bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and a little spicy. Decent although not terrible interesting Tripel. Certainly not a Key to Paradise - only a little buzz.
