COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Belgium, Old St. Nick delivers a bundle of sticks to those who have behaved badly throughout the year. Just to be safe, we suggest foregoing cookies and leaving Santa a pFriem Belgian Christmas Ale. Brewed with coriander in a rich, Dubbel base, its toffee aromas and hints of fresh ripe orange will leave a milk-chocolaty velvet coat on Santa’s tongue and guarantee that you won’t be getting sticks this year.

Great flavor. Almost Witty. This is easily one of the best beers I’ve ever had. Top 25.

Very rich deep body flavors of Christmas spices and malty roasty, some yeasty, bright with hints of citrus and sweetness.

Taster at brewery. Amber body, small creamy head. Aroma has a hint of pine or spruce. Taste has a malty/yeasty base, accented with the piney hops. Some gingerbread/fruitcake flavors too.

On tap at beer star. Pours out a rusty brown topped with a tan head. Nose is nice spice rich malts and some Christmas. Taste is more of the nice spice Christmas in my mouth with some belg candy.

Draft @ Dog & Pony A subtle mix of flavors, complex but balanced. Lots of spice with some fruit that comes through the malt. Great nose from the dubbel character. Very nice, cheers!

Bottle (375ml $6): Murky brown with largish tan head. Medium plus carbination. Some sweetness and fruity Belgian aroma. Some spicyness I assume is the coriander (whatever that is). Very nice. I wish they would bottle this as a Dubbel year round

@ Darby’s Gastown. Hazy amber-brown. Medium, bubbly head. Aroma has a little bit of that fruity sweetness you like in the type...raisins and oranges...nice fruity palate. Rounded bitterness balances this. Good raisiny malt sweetness, orange and pear fruitiness, just a touch of yeastiness. Good brew.

Bottle. Colour...dark, ruddy brown with some garnet notes when held to the light and a thin white head. Nose...very fruity and sweet with dark dried fruits and a distinctly Belgian aroma. Palate...initially sharp and then a full, broad shouldered feel with well rounded notes of dried cherry and cassis and an earthy character that melds well throughout the palate. The mid palate is clean yet robust and the finish is long, lightly cloying and profuse with fruit leather.

Deep purple/red with a tall off-white head. Full of ripe dark fruits, candied dark sugars, raisin, clove, bright fruit. Medium, bubbly yet coating body. Sure to keep ya warm. Super.
