luttonm (6979) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 28, 2017
Bottle in Seattle. Dark brown-black, foamy gray-tan head. Nose is indistinct but quite yeasty. Fizzy sip, brighter Belgian yeast character that leads to a dark stout flavor. Nice roastiness. I'm confused by the style overall. Candi sweetness, alcohol very well hidden. This is a confusing beer, that isn't working for me.

375 ml bottle shared with Tmoney99 and the Nine Giant crew. Pours a dark cola brown color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma and flavor have light roasted malts, dark fruits, Belgian yeast, some sweetness, a hint of spice, thin for the abv and style.

12.7 oz corked bottle pours dark with a tan foam head. Earthy yeast aroma, smoke and chocolate. Taste is roasted malts, nuts, coffee and a strong hit of licorice and clove like spice. Smooth overall but a its a little young-2017 bottle. Kind of a miss. Ok beer.

By far the best beer of the night. I love it. It reminds me of a Scotch Ale.

Capa (3629) - DC, Washington DC, USA - JAN 9, 2016
Black with a beige head. Medium bodied. Lightly roasted mLt, fruits, a bit of a tang, some yeast notes. Finish has a lasting spiced bite. Surprising in its overall profile. Very nice.

ChrisO Tasting. Almost clear deep red - amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is softish and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Sweet malts, good tangy fruits. Toffee. A little spice - cinnamon maybe. Ripe fruits. Light semi dry finish. Not bad.

Bottle shared at the chriso and Ruth pre-Christmas / post-Pigs Ear holiday tasting of 2015 - London. Cheers! Pours clear, deep red-brown with a frothy, tan head. Light dry cocoa in the aroma, some burnt toffee, earth. Moderately sweet, with more earthy, baking cocoa, light toffee and alcohol. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming to finish, with some sweet chocolate, candi sugar and well roasted malts. Not bad.

3.5
Scopey (16277) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 18, 2015
Bottle at Chriso’s Xmas Tasting 2015. It pours darkest brown with a thick beige head. The nose is toasted, earthy, charred wood, burnt treacle, toffee, cacao nibs and dark fruits. The taste is bitter, toasted, earth, woody, spice, warming alcohol, candy sugars, leather, dark fruits and chewy malt with a dry, warming finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Interesting and pretty well constructed. Decent.
