12.7 oz corked bottle pours dark with a tan foam head. Earthy yeast aroma, smoke and chocolate. Taste is roasted malts, nuts, coffee and a strong hit of licorice and clove like spice. Smooth overall but a its a little young-2017 bottle. Kind of a miss. Ok beer.

By far the best beer of the night. I love it. It reminds me of a Scotch Ale.

Light dry cocoa in the aroma, some burnt toffee, earth. Moderately sweet, with more earthy, baking cocoa, light toffee and alcohol. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming to finish, with some sweet chocolate, candi sugar and well roasted malts. Not bad.

Scopey (13797) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 18, 2015
Bottle at Chrisos Xmas Tasting 2015. It pours darkest brown with a thick beige head. The nose is toasted, earthy, charred wood, burnt treacle, toffee, cacao nibs and dark fruits. The taste is bitter, toasted, earth, woody, spice, warming alcohol, candy sugars, leather, dark fruits and chewy malt with a dry, warming finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Interesting and pretty well constructed. Decent.
