A good full body IPA tasted at intermezzo bistro on first Avenue in Seattle.

Judging by the description, pFriem IPA is an English interpretation of the style. However, this beer has an undeniably American character. The coloring is gold-orange. There is a lot of caramel malt, but the balance is clearly hop-forward. Piney and pithy flavors throughout with a long, bitter finish. Tasty. mezr (153) - California, USA - SEP 23, 2017
Poured from a bottle a clear golden color with a white frothy head. Aroma is citrus and pine. Medium body with average carbonation. lightly bitter with a long bitter finish. Itzjerm (3076) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - SEP 14, 2017
Perfect modern east coast IPA with west coast brains. Juicy but still west coast pine. This may be the perfect IPA? Nose is nice but could use some improvement. Sweet

This IPA offers a no-nonsense approach to ultimate balance. Hops and Malt both express themselves in full measure. Beer is hoppy indeed, both at first taste and during the aftertaste the malt profile is consistently present. This is craft beer that exhibits the purest definition of "craft". pFriem is a significant contributor to the Oregon beer scene...and we, as consumers are the beneficiaries. That's sounds over the top no doubt...but as you enjoy one of their creations on a late summers day, such hyperbole issues forth with little effort. Find their beer. Drink it.

500ml bottle. Grapefruit citrus hop aroma with notes of tropical fruit, pine resin and some caramel malt. Pours clear golden colored with a large tan head that has excellent retention and some lacing. Starts with grapefruit hop flavor and acidity with a little bit of caramel malt and tropical fruit. Finishes dry and a touch bitter with pine resin hop flavors that linger on the palate after each sip. Solid IPA. JK (6254) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - JUL 4, 2017
Bottled, less than one month old. Gold color with a little haze. This is an old school ipa. Not overly bitter, fresh bread and a hop flavor with somw citrus. Well made. argeru (94) - Hillsboro, Oregon, USA - JUN 30, 2017
Bottle; straw gold, big sticky head; almost no aroma; balanced clean crisp bright, orange and fruit/floral hop; nice carbonation; quite good as far as classic style points, nose was disappointed. GRM (4145) - Aylmer, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 27, 2017
