Deep brown or close to black. Faint scent of roasted malt. Watery, dominated by unpleasant bitterness and too light on the palate. Too light to be a real Schwarzbier. This used to be a better beer.

500ml matte can as Premium Schwarz Bier featuring the "cool star coolness indicator"."P"fpfpfppffungstädter, it means "horsecock" German, it’s all good. This is their "black" horse cock variant. Anyways it pours a cola bornw with a foamy dark off-white head. Aroma is nuts, metal, and herbs. Produced 4 months ago it isn’t exacltly old by import standards, but it doesn’t smell invigorating. Falvor is decent, definitely a more "expressive" schawrzbier. Way more maltiness, some vinegar, savory yeast, caramel, toffee, licorice root, dried fruits, herbs, not crisp and clean like a good schwarz, but not terrible, its got a lot of unique flavors but that makes it flawed.

Can pour into nonic pint glass from Redstone Liquors. Appearance is clear dark reddish-brown with nice sparkle, finger-width foamy light brown head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is subtle brown bread/molasses. Taste is sweet fruity quality, almost like grape juice, with late bready/molasses. Palate is medium bodied with average-to-lively carbonation and dry finish. Overall, aroma is mild and it’s too sweet and fruity for the style. Still, not an unpleasant drink.

Can from the Boise Co-op. Dark brown pour, small foamy head. Musty aroma, leaning towards sour. Taste also kind of sour, lacking the real bitter bite of the style. Musty throughout, more sweet than bitter.

On tap at bitter Creek boise. Pours out a crisp dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is light roast malts some pit fruit sweetness and a light smoke. Taste is more of the nice roast light pit fruit plum sweetness and a touch of smoke.

Sample at Örebro Öl & Whisky 2016. Dark malty smell. Similar taste, bready. Nice and malty.

Dark brown, clear, small tan head. Aroma malt. Light body. Fairly sweet malt, kind of a cola/licorice background. It’s fine overall, fairly straightforward and light.

massingasetta (711) - München, GERMANY - SEP 24, 2016
This is a mild Schwarzbier, almost a light version for those that do not like this taste variant. A decent beer but not with a lot of Pep or strong direction.

500mL can, pours a dark brown. Bready malt and toasted. Flavour similar, with bready malts, toasted, and sadly some metallic.

Can - Light dark malty notes. Deep clear brown with a decent beige head. Light caramel and dark malty notes. Sweet and dark, decent.

Medium brown, no head. Mellow caramel, toast nose. Thin body, very thin. Nothing going on here, just a lame supermarket beer.
