Seasonal on tap growler from the brewpub pours a clear dark amber with an avg tan head, excellent lacing & mostly lasting. Light aromas of caramel malt and citrus. Pleasant light sweet flavor of caramel and lightly toasted malt on the front with a pronounced note of moderate hop finish, the bitter hops round out the heavy rich malt with an avg duration. The complexity of flavor & nearly 8% ABV makes for a beer to linger over & enjoy slowly. BeerandBlues2 (13355) - Escondido, California, USA - SEP 2, 2012

from brewery in a taster. Looks pretty darkish red. Not too much on the nose except a bit of amber malts. No hops on smell. Lovely tastes of amber malts with an alright bitterness. Alright lacing. Overall 8 of 10. I wish i could have bought a bomber of this! LilBeerDoctor (3931) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 30, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark amber with a tan head. Aroma of caramel malt, bitter hops, hop oils, citrus. Flavor of more fruity malt with a spicy hops finish, bitter hops, heavy rich malt. Nice and hoppy, with a rich malt base, certainly a little heavy alcohol-wise. Good stuff though, best Phantom Canyon beer!
