On tap @ Phantom Canyon poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting light amber head. Aromas of carmel, citrus and light pine. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. On tap @ PC. Dark red orange appearance with a cream colored head. Caramel malty aroma with medium piney hops. Fairly piney, bitter hoppy flavor over a mild to medium caramel malty body. Braudog (6833) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - MAY 6, 2004
Dark red. Sticky foam on the glass. Fruity grapefruit aroma and likewise in the flavor. Light and drinkable. One of only two passable beers at Phantom Canyon.

Dark amber in colour with no head at all. Maltiness in the aroma with almost nothing else. A great malty flavour with a bit of sweetness and a touch of hops thrown in. Finishes with a malt bitterness. Overall, a better than average that was one of my favourites from the afternoon at the brewpub, which says quite a bit, because I usually don't like the style. Shaker pint pour at the brewpub. Pour is dark golden brown, nice off white head. Aroma of toasty slightly sweet, biscuit maltiness with decent hop bitter behind that. Taste is the nose, slight sweet, biscuit malt, hop bitterness. At the end, there is a nice burnt roasty element. Palate medium to thin, drinkable with a lot of character. Nice amber.
