On tap at the brewpub. Rich amber color with a yellowish ivory head. Classical cascade hop aroma making this look, smell, and taste like a Colorado brewpub ale. Good, but not great. KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - OCT 23, 2005
Tap at brewery. Pours a deep amber with a light, hoppy aroma. Hoppy flavor with a sweet, sugary finish. Coating palate. Good stuff! Aubrey (3516) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - MAR 2, 2003
Their "red ale," with crystal malts and cascades. One of their better beers, IMHO. Nice texture; creamy with a thickish presence. Not too "hoppy" by any means, but it has a decent citric quality. Bitterness builds with time somewhat. Chewy malts are a nice complement. Decent beer, indeed. lb4lb (2627) - Austin, Texas, USA - AUG 24, 2008
Pours a rich amber color with a light beige head. Smell is nicely hoppy and fruity. Nice . Taste is a bit milder but still fruiy and pleasantly hoppy, but with a light bitterness compared to the smell. Medium to light bodied and normal carbonation. Pretty good. (on tap at Summit Brewfest in Colorado Springs). Pours a cloudy amber color. Medium size tan head. Average balance of malt and hops. Moderate carbonation. Light bitterness. luckygirl (1223) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 2, 2008
Draught at the brewery. Beer is hazy, moderately-to-very dark red-brown. Head is small, white, frothy. Diminishes mostly and quickly, eventually disappears.
The aroma is malty with a light note of toasted grain; Hoppy with a moderate note of herbal resin/pine, light note of lemon zest; Yeasty with light notes of sweat and basement; Trace of tropical fruit.
The flavor is moderately-to-heavily acidic, moderately bitter, lightly-to-moderately sweet with a long, unclean, moderately acidic, lightly bittersweet finish.
The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is average. walleye (1101) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - SEP 18, 2005
had this in eary july while the family was in the springs for flemdawgs wedding on the 2nd. from the tap. poured a nice amber with off white head that didn’t hang around for very long. aroma nice malt and hops come out with some caramel. flavor, those hops came right out there which I wasn’t expecting since most ambers I have had are not this hoppy, but since I do like hops I enjoyed this.did get some caramel .
