Tap at brewery. Pours a deep amber with a light, hoppy aroma. Hoppy flavor with a sweet, sugary finish. Coating palate. Good stuff! Braudog (6906) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - MAY 6, 2004
Dark red. Sticky foam on the glass. Fruity grapefruit aroma and likewise in the flavor. Light and drinkable. One of only two passable beers at Phantom Canyon. jcwattsrugger (12559) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - SEP 29, 2005
on tap-pours a tan head, color is brown. Aroma is grain & sweet. Taste is malty and then the hops come through boldly. This was their best beer of the batch I had, very nicely done. BDR (2535) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - JUN 2, 2007
On tap at the Phantom Canyon Brewery. Dark amber color with off white head. Citrus hop nose with a similar body and some faint malt flavor. lb4lb (2628) - Austin, Texas, USA - AUG 24, 2008
Pours a rich amber color with a light beige head. Smell is nicely hoppy and fruity. Nice . Taste is a bit milder but still fruiy and pleasantly hoppy, but with a light bitterness compared to the smell. Medium to light bodied and normal carbonation. Pretty good.

In taster from brewery. Looks like hazy amber. Smells like cascade. Tastes like cascade on the front palate then warm amber malts on the sides. Overall 7 of 10. Aubrey (3516) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - MAR 2, 2003
Their "red ale," with crystal malts and cascades. One of their better beers, IMHO. Nice texture; creamy with a thickish presence. Not too "hoppy" by any means, but it has a decent citric quality. Bitterness builds with time somewhat. Chewy malts are a nice complement. Decent beer, indeed. theisti (4237) - Kansas, USA - MAY 26, 2009
Shaker pint pour at the brewpub. Pour is dark golden brown, nice off white head. Aroma of toasty slightly sweet, biscuit maltiness with decent hop bitter behind that. Taste is the nose, slight sweet, biscuit malt, hop bitterness. At the end, there is a nice burnt roasty element. Palate medium to thin, drinkable with a lot of character. Nice amber. walleye (1102) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - SEP 18, 2005
had this in eary july while the family was in the springs for flemdawgs wedding on the 2nd. from the tap. poured a nice amber with off white head that didn’t hang around for very long. aroma nice malt and hops come out with some caramel. flavor, those hops came right out there which I wasn’t expecting since most ambers I have had are not this hoppy, but since I do like hops I enjoyed this.did get some caramel . On tap at the brewpub. Rich amber color with a yellowish ivory head. Classical cascade hop aroma making this look, smell, and taste like a Colorado brewpub ale. Good, but not great.
