Rated based on notes taken 21 Apr 2012 -- I really liked this Hef. Although I’m a sucker for clean but German-style funky Hef’s, which is exactly what this is.

On tap at brewery. Was weeks ago so I dont remeber the details, but I thought it was decent.

jkwalking05 (4743) - Arlington, Texas, USA - MAR 22, 2014
On tap at the brewpub. Cloudy gold with an average white head. Aroma is banana, lots of clove, light cinnamon and citrus. Taste is the same with a slight vegetal (carrot) off-note.

ads135 (4844) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JAN 20, 2014
A mild hefeweizen, even compared to other hefes. Golden and watery. Slight amount of clove, some citrus.

DiarmaidBHK (5357) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 20, 2013
Draft at brewpub. Pours almost orange and cloudy with a very, very thin white head. Has a slight frutiness in the nose. Tastes like I bit into an apple which is a bit off putting when you’re expecting a hefe to taste like something a wee bit closer to style. Thankfully it finishes clean. A massive disappointment.

Caytinator (1005) - Waco, Texas, USA - AUG 19, 2013
Pint on tap. Really really good, very traditional, lots of banana & clove in the taste, no bitterness at all. Light carbonation, medium body. I mistook this for actually german.

sonnycheeba (6214) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JAN 11, 2013
Tap. Pours hazy orange with thin, creamy white head; short retention and spare lacing. Aroma is banana, cloves, cookie malt, sweetbread, floral hops, and light spice. Flavor is sweet malt forward with light fruit esters and faint hops with banana; dry, lightly sweet finish. Light/medium body and low carbonation.

hops99 (60) - Montana, USA - OCT 3, 2012
On tap at the brewpub, from notes I took at the time. Slightly cloudy yellow beer with not much head. Nice banana, clove and yeasty estery scent. Taste is much of the same with some sweet wheat and lots of banana and clove. I’m not much of a hef guy but this one I do like.

arminjewell (9689) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JUL 14, 2012
Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy yellow pour with white head, aroma has notes of wet grain, biscuit, some slight yeast, touch of coriander, clove, fruit, touch of banana, hints of grass. Taste is a mix of clove, pepper, spice, touch of wet grain, biscuit, yeast, banana, hints of fruit in there but not much really going on, fairly standard wheat.

BelgianBeerGal (4118) - Panama City, Florida, USA - JUN 15, 2012
Sample at brewery. Pretty standard house hefe. Lighter aroma but bigger clove and spice in the flavor.
