Hazy dark amber color with almost no head. The aroma is sweet and nutty, maybe a bit buttery. Very sweet flavor, almost like a Thomas Hardy, with good malt and toffee flavor; there is an interesting pineapple freshness; in the final, some sweet nuts, alcohol, caramel; correct bitterness.
Very good, 70% classic British, 30% zesty American.
Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Pours a cloudy amber with a tiny off-white head. Thick caramelish aroma, some overripe fruit - slightly oxidized. Rich body, lowish carbonation, a little manure(!), sweet vanillaish but not overly woody or Bourbonish. Has a salty character. Lovely. 160612 Ratman197 (15624) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAR 29, 2012
