Draft at the brewpub in colorAdo springs. Deep black color. Malty and nutty consistency with a milky palate. Ok NachlamSie (3598) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 29, 2014
Pint from cask at the brewpub. Pours very dark with a well formed head. The aroma is richly roasty, smokey and chocolatey. The hearty malt body conveys peaty smoke, earth, cacao and a little residual sweetness. It?s super clean and well balanced. The palate is silky. Excellent roast and smoke in the finish. This is an outstanding porter. HIGHB4LL (837) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - APR 20, 2014
On tap at brewery. Appearance: two fingers of brown head that cascades like a nitro pour, dark brown color, good lacing. Aroma: chocolate, light coffee, light roast. Palate: creamy texture, full body, light carbonation, bitter lasting finish. Taste: sweet start to lasting light bitterness. Overall, third favorite beer at the brewery while I was there. Well rounded, if not that complex. jkwalking05 (4745) - Arlington, Texas, USA - MAR 22, 2014
On tap at the brewpub. Black in color with a decent sized beige head. Aroma is of roasted malts, light smoke and Italian roast coffee. Taste is of smoke, earth, wet soil, and heavy in roasted malts. ads135 (5215) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JAN 20, 2014
The peat isn’t as strong as I’d like, but its there and its nice. Dark and roasted. Some lingering sweetness.

Tap. Pours deep, dark brown with average, creamy tan head; good retention and decent lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, earthy hops, and dates. Flavor is light roast malt, dark fruit esters, and light earthy hops with faint caramel and cinnamon; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation. Hand pumped from cask to aerate at the brewery. Dark brown, almost a black hue. Aroma of coffee & slightly roasted malt. Head is light brown & creamy, fair lacing & mostly diminishing. Moderately sweet with complex peat flavor not unlike sipping a fine aged scotch. Medium to full body, texture is not a creamy as I would expect, carbonation is soft. An enjoyable Porter that is one of the standards Phantom keeps available year round. mike67 (1287) - , New Jersey, USA - AUG 27, 2012
ON tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a creamy, long lasting, off-white head. Aroma is of toasted malt dark fruit, coffee, vanilla and dark chocolate. Body is full and creamy, no carbonation. Taste is toasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, dark fruit. Long bitter finish. Good porter, but I don’t like it flat.
