This beer pours. Deep amber with a thin white. The aromas are citrus, grass. The mouthfeel is dry and bitter. Nor bad! Cheers! obxdude10 (2324) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 10, 2013
Loved this IPA! The beer poured a dark straw color with a pure white head that left some beautiful, sticky lacing around the inside of the glass. The nose was extremely hoppy and dry. It was almost offensive (in a great way!) The body was perfectly balanced and the mouthfeel was alive and spritzy. The flavors were all hops! Dry, spicy, abrasive, flowery hops. I got some subtle hints of lemon, grass and yeast. The finish was very dry and flowery as well. Very nice IPA! jeff789 (1408) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 24, 2010
Pours a dark ruby with a big head nice lacing... Pungent aroma, quite a bit roasty, with big notes of citrusy hops... Flavor is very roasty, with lots of fruity hops especially in the finish... Dry medium bodied, roast lingers nicely, deftly balanced, easily the best philadelphia brewing beer ive had, really really good, not nearly as hoppy as i expected... tcane7 (1674) - Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 25, 2012
Bottle from Capones. Bottled 3 days ago. Pours cloudy gold with fluffy off white, nearly beige, head with tons of lacing. Nose is flowery, light citrus, and resin. Taste is more of the same with decent bitterness in the finish. Probably my favorite PBC beer. Look forward to this fresh local treat every year. I have liked all of PBC’s offerings, and this one is no different. Pours burnt siennaw 2f frothy clingy ow head. Nose is resiny hops, big caramel malt, brown sugar, some fruit. Tastes rich, earthy, with a solid c malt bill, resiny wet hops, and black pepper notes. Palate is rich, complex, and smooth. This one is great.

Thanks to jrocket for this. Pours a dark brown with a big frothy white head. Great head retention. Aroma is earthy wood hop bitterness and light malt. Taste is a woody hop bitterness, a great bite. Strong malt backbone with is rare for me with harvest IPA’s and makes this beer great. hopdog (12584) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 9, 2009
On tap. Poured a deeper amberish/orange color with medium sized of white head. Aromas of floral hops, citurs, and some toastiness. Tastes of floral hops, tea, citrus, and some lighter caramel. More of a balanced and English IPA vs a hop bomb. keepersj12 (3117) - Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA - NOV 8, 2010
Pretty decent from the ghetto. Used to be a ghetto anyway. Now it’s the new place to be seen. Pours a dark clear amber with a creamy off white head that laces nicely. The aroma is the best part of this beer. Very piney and citrusy with a nice malt backbone. Flavor comes off quite bitter and refreshing with a peppery feel on the throat. Nice lingering after taste. The best I’ve had from this brewer by far. Heathen (1500) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - JUN 5, 2011
THOUGTHS: Very dark pale ale. I’m like it from the start. It had a ton of hops flavor. It was sort of in between a regular and a black IPA. Definitely different. Tons of flavor, but it could use a little more body or to be less oily. It was a little like Yakima Glory Lite. It may not be to style, but it is a great beer.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a very dark amber that was just about brown in the glass with and average to large, tan head that mostly diminished except for a thin sheet that left good lacing. The aroma was nice but weak. It had light molasses and caramel; lighter roasted malt; light pine and resin; something slightly rubbery. The initial flavor was moderately sweet and light to moderately bitter; while the finish was moderately sweet and moderately to rather bitter with an average to long duration. There was roasted malt, caramel malt, molasses, maple syrup, piney hops, resinous hops, citrus rind, hints of rubber and grapefruit. The medium body was really oily and made the body seem even lighter. It also had lightly fizzy carbonation and a slightly metallic finish. reggiedunlop (3725) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 28, 2011
Pours a clear amber with a medium white head...nice lacing and decent retention. Aroma is very floral and citrusy...pineapple, orange, and mango...slightly sweet. Flavor has some spicy grapefruit and orange blossom...a bit of caramel and vanilla...ever so slight diacetyl? Mouthfeel is light/medium and silky and the finish is earthy, bitter, and dry.
