In 1682 William Penn signed a treaty with the Native American leaders of the Shackamaxon village, which later became the district of Kensington, where our brewery is located today. This is a rich, dark brew made with chocolate and Munich malts and aged on French oak. We hope you enjoy sipping on this full bodied imperial stout.

From a variety pack: pours black with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, molasses, with dark, but not great, coffee. Taste is somewhat sweet. Body is lightly oily kind of thickish without being too heavy. Not the most complex. Morp.

BB backlog, bottle pours a deep black with one finger beige head. Smell and taste are heavy heat, bakers chocolate, roasted malt, and booze. Theres maybe some light oak as it warms but this is pretty warming/alcoholic. Body was medium. Not my favorite impy.

Draft at fire waters. Pours black with an inch of thick khaki head. Roasted malt on the nose combined with a pine note. So much oak on the tongue you can practically taste the barrel. It's a bit splintery for my taste. Solid but not spectacular. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark and roasty with a certain dark fruit (raisin, cherry) that seems a bit tart. Hints of cocoa and caramel. Something just seems off; perhaps I got a bad one.

If you like impy sout, invert my numbers. Big and black tap at Hollywood. Typical intriguing impy stout dark beer aromas. first palate impression is big heavy high alky impy stout impact. Quite a wallop. At first youy don’t know its warming but then it sneaks up on yah. Mouth coating warming sensations going all round. Terribly on style, what else can be said except perhaps its a little smoother than many domestic imp stouts.

Pour is a dark ruby with no light through. Aroma is a complex malt and sweet chocolates. Taste is warm and deep with riches. Finish is smooth and warm.

keanex (1799) - Atco, New Jersey, USA - FEB 11, 2015
Bottled December 10, 2014.
Glass: Tired Hands pub glass.
Appearance: Black as night with a tall, dense and brown head.
Aroma: The aroma is mild but leans prominent with chocolate, hints of roast and a dash of vanilla. Aroma is nice smelling, but could use more umph.
Taste: Milk chocolate greets the tip of the tongue into bitter dark chocolate, hints of roast, a touch of oxidation and light vanilla. Good drinking beer.
Palate: Full-bodied, moderately carbed.
Overall: A great stout in its own right, but it’s an even better value at $9 for a 6 pack. Will be buying this again.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2015 Not bad. Ok. Has a chicory flavor, but a little to charcoal flavored. Missing the smooth chocolate or coffee type notes this should have. Bottle
