Bottle, pours murky dark amber with a small head. Aroma of nuts, English malts, caramel and moderate hops. Flavour of toasted English malts, nuts, caramel and slight hops. HogTownHarry (7064) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - APR 19, 2010
660ml bottle shared by blankboy with me, garthicus, GregClow, jerc & mabel. Slightly hazy amber with a small creamy off-white head. Slightly sweet and grassy aroma - quite mild. The taste was quite harsh - bottle metal - generic bitterness, meh. Watery, dry, still mouthfeel, finishes quick, with a pointless characterless bitter aftertaste. Ehh - as it warms up, not all that bad - but nothing "Classic" about it. blankboy (7788) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 29, 2010
My bottle [660ml] shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus, GregClow, jerc & mabel. Pours a clear deep golden-amber with an average size diminishing foamy off-white head. Aroma: Well, that smells like an ESB to me: Buttery, in a good way, maybe a tad sweet, along with lightly toasted caramel malt, grain, citrus hops and some fruit. Flavour follows the aroma and again, is right on style to me. Good hop profile. Medium bodied. I liked it, solid stuff. garthicus (2942) - Dublin, IRELAND - JAN 2, 2010
With thanks to Blankboy. Appearance: Cognac colour with a small off white head. Aroma: Caramel, vanilla, nice and malty with some sweetness too. Flavour: A light amount of malt to start, caramel, some grains and the tiniest amount of hops. Had a bitter and dry finish. Just okay. Cool label though. jercraigs (10731) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 29, 2009
2009-11-27. Copper amber body witha modest off-white head and light lace. Aroma is sweet, light metallic note, touch of toasty malt is odd but not unpleasant. 6+ Flavour is similar, sweet muddled malt has light bitterness and a light metallic note in the finish that is brown ale like. Light fruity oddness could be on purpose or possibly light oxidation. Average plus palate. Meh. Okay but just did not quite come together for my tastes. Bottle shared by Blankboy.

[2598-20091127] 650mL bottle. Rich chocolate malt grains and mild resin aroma. Slightly hazy, light amber orange body with a quick foamy white head. Sweet grain malt flavour has mild resin butter notes. Medium body. Interesting balance.

Finally a true bitter that has bitterness and doesn’t just state it on the label. There is plenty of generous hops in each bottle. If you like bitters, you love this esb! presario (4916) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 27, 2009
Bottle. Copper with a thin fair white head. Thick ruck malt nose. Rich spicy thick malt. Delicious. MrRoss (646) - Delta, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 7, 2009
From Brewery Creek. Poured out a great clear and dark copper beneath a thin but creamy white head. Aroma was quite malty and thankfully the taste was less so. Mouth was average; finish was nice and hoppy to offset the malts. Not a super beer but not such a bad one. beerbuzzmontreal (3487) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 29, 2008
Clear reddish copper pour with a thin offwhite head. Decent aroma of toasted malt, caramel and hops. The flavor feels a bit bland, there’s some toasted malt, some hops and caramel, but it’s highly unexciting. The body is light and boring, the carbonation is gentle.
