355ML can. Pours blond, fizzy and frothy. Tons of hoppy greatness in a tiney little green can. Hints of citrus, resin and earthy aromas dominate the glass. The taste is powerful and bitter; but refreshing and long lasting. overall; it’s a wonderful tasting beer in a tine little green beer.
Pours a large frothy, foamy head that gives off good dirty lacing. Aromas of hops, lemony, and oranges. Flavours are very citrus oriented. Oranges, grapefruit, mild lemon with mild floral hops and very mild malts. Nice warming sensation. Hoppy bitterness found in an IPA, this one’s much more apparent. Really nice taste ant not too bitter. Good balance. Brettsky06 (522) - Manitoba, CANADA - MAR 2, 2017
Orange pour. Light citrus aromas and flavours. Bit of pine. Taste the yeast as well. Nice IPA ADfan (877) - Orange County, California, USA - DEC 4, 2016
In the glass the beer pours a hazy amber color with a medium head. Aroma has some malts, caramel and some citrus. The taste has some citrus along with hops and some resin. Pretty smooth beer with an average finish. adamnowek (3306) - Brussels, BELGIUM - JUL 15, 2016
Super fresh and fruity nose. Smooth, resinous texture. Moderately bitter taste. UXO (1922) - CANADA - MAY 24, 2016
Appearance: clear pale amber with one fingers of rocky ivory head, excellent retention and moderate lacing. (4/5) Aroma: pithy grapefruit, caramel malt, pine resin. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-high bitter. (8/10) Medium body, moderate carbonation, medium-dry slightly sticky and lingering bitter finish. (3/5)
I understand this is the replacement for Phillips Original IPA, so I’m counting it as a 1001. Nice IPA, but maltier than my preference. Not malt-forward, as such, but it’s obvious that this is an older-style, still strongly English-influenced IPA. The big bitterness is there, but it’s well-integrated and supported by the sweet caramel malt. The ABV doesn’t really factor, and is apparent only as a mild warming at the very end. (15/20)

341ml bottle. Clear golden-orange in colour with a thin white head, light lacing. The aroma is of caramel, grapefruit, peaches. The flavour is of grapefruit, some tropical fruits, good hop bite, juicy. Bitter mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long, hoppy. The grapefruit comes out more when it warms, quite drinkable. redbeered (66) - GREECE - FEB 15, 2016
bottle: pours copper straw colour with a nice head, a little weak on the aroma side mostly maltiness and a little fruity......a little sweet with a strong bitterness that increases towards end, dry finish...........a good one DeanF (2527) - Quebec, CANADA - JAN 14, 2016
Has a good foamy head and clear copper body. Aroma is malty hops, some sharpness and sweetness in the equation. Flavour is meaty malts with a good hop kick. Good balance and nice prominent flavour, good dry finish. Phillips does it again and delivers an IPA with a good malt punch. dfinney23 (3424) - Houston, Texas, USA - DEC 22, 2015
Lightly hazy gold with a large frothy head. Mostly pine and citrus with some earthy and grainy notes. RhetoricalAns (973) - Red Deer, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 25, 2015
Draft. Great IPA, general amber pour and standard caramel / pine resin hop aroma profile but balanced nicely. The taste is also nicely balanced. Some citrus notes throughout.
