Black with creamy head. Aroma has quite a lot of piney hop. Flavour has some fruity berry sweetness too. Full flavoured and pleasantly bitter.

330ml bottle at a private tasting at Zarazbirachi, Ruse, Bulgaria. Pours opaque with a thick foam-and-froth beige head, heavy lacing but no visible bead. Dark brown in colour. On the nose, complex citrus with hints of smoke. Very smooth in the mouth with fine carbonation. At first, strong citrus flavours, giving way to the burnt toast and molasses of a stout. A perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness, with just a touch of sourness. Overall, a citrusy IPA and a stout in one bottle.

Bottle at home from Malt Attacks, 25th February 18. Pours a fairly viscous black ale, nice neat head and lacing. Aroma is fruity and cocoa. Taste is smooth, fruity, cocoa nibs, bitter for sure, citrus, more dark chocolate bitterness and dusty bitter linger. This is really good, I love this brewery and love a BIPA, fits the slot.

Smell of toasted malt. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of rye, grass, roasted malt. Hops in finish. Wild carbon. Bitter. Balanced.

Keg at Mother Kelly’s SE1, London in Jan 2018 - Opaque black in colour. Good creamy beige head. Excellent lacing. Malty; roasty malts, bit burnt, roast coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice notes, caramel. Fruity; citrus, grapefruit, orange. Hoppy; decent hop bitterness, piney hops. Good balance (for a BIPA). Bitter roast malty and citrus fruity piney hoppy throughout. Liked this. Not too OTT. Very decent BIPA. (2018-01)

Niby fajna żywica, ale piwo męczy, goryczka zalega, no tak średnio bym powiedział

nephirem (699) - CROATIA - JAN 25, 2018
Bottle, 0.33l. Thick black pour, one finger frothy beige head. Nice nose, roasted malts, coffee, grassy hops. Slight citrus. Thin to medium body, medium carbonation. Light texture, slight thickness. Roasty bittersweet taste. Rich aroma, lots of stout qualities here. Coffee grains, cocoa and roasted malts. Hops in the aftertaste. Some grassy hops, pine. Spicy herbal notes. Long finish, bitter and dry. Overall, damn fine black IPA. Robust and tasty.

Keg at Mother Kelly's Vauxhall as Põhjala Mets, 7%. Pours opaque black with a huge dense foamy brown head that leaves full lacing. Aroma is fruited chocolate and toasted tea cake. Body is lightish but rounded with soft carbonation. Taste is quite complex with more fruited 50% chocolate, smoke, toasted malts, tangy dried fruit, dark bread and some salt and paprika, faint pine and floral notes, creamy coffee. A very good CDA without a doubt. Flavour keeps you guessing constantly. (8-4-8-4-16=4.0)

Key at Mother Kelly's SE1. Aroma is initially of charcoal and dark chocolate before floral berries come through. Dark and glossy. Thick creamy beige head. Light bitterness which is uplifted by a creamy sweetness. Medium bodied. Creamy. Average carbonation. Slightly astringent finish. Well balanced smooth Black IPA.

Bardzo obfita, gruba piana, piwo ewidentnie przegazowane. Barwa brązowo czarna, nieprzejrzysta. W aromacie trochę jagód, czekolady, świerku, żywicy i kociego moczu...
