COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Taanilinn is the Estonian for Danish Town - this is where the capital Tallinn got its name from and this is where Denmark got their national flag Dannebrog in 1219, when it fell from the sky.
Põhjala and To Øl created this beer together to honour the old Danish heritage of Tallinn. Deep complex oatmeal stout aged for months on Cognac barrels, spiced with all the best from the liquors of Estonia.

Great imperial stout with decent barrel influence (cognac giving some fruity notes) and also decent amount of spices adding some depth. Overall a beer is well balanced with additions keeping it interesting.

Cocoa, roasted notes, medicinal herbs, cognac, black with a thin brown head, medium/full body, carbonation is quite soft, beautiful bitter notes of coca and again herbs, pleasant warming/woody final...definitely an extraordinary beer.

Butelka (thanks Mart). Najlepsze piwo estońskiego kraftu, a zarazem najlepsza Pohjala. Klasa.

DesertDevil (699) - Arizona, USA - APR 18, 2017
12-oz bottle courtesy of AlbusDumbledore. Muted sweet cognac blends with slight anise on the nose. Soft cognac sweetness dominates the taste with a melange of indeterminable spices floating faintly beneath. Near the conclusion, charred malt and anise come to the fore; the licorice flavor lingers awhile on the tongue. the beer possesses a velvety smooth body (likely thanks to the oatmeal in the malt bill). A delightful sipper of a brew.

mateuszk (2769) - Poznań, POLAND - APR 5, 2017
Bottle. Quite sweet in overall, great coffee and chocolate flavours, lightly roasted with quite lots of cognac notes. Medium body, smooth texture, soft carbonation. Alcohol nicely mellowed and shows just with nice warming after sip. Great one.

330 ml bottle. Feb 13th 2016 at the Beer Hunter’s, Pori, Finland.
Black color with a small mid-brown head. Roasted malt, sweetness, cognac, chocolate and dark fruits in the aroma. The flavor is really intense with roasted malt, vanilla, dark fruits, alcohol, dessert wine and woody dryness. Super smooth, balanced and tasty.

Bottle 0,33. Dark black color, big nice creamy head. Rich aroma: roasted, coffee, chocolate, toffee, wood. Taste: heavy sweet, moderately bitter, coffee, warming alcohol, wood. Full body. Well balanced with hidden ABV.

3.5
Koelschtrinker (21489) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - FEB 6, 2017
Intensiver, trocken schokoladiger Beginn. Andeutungsweise alkoholisch, wenig intensive Holznoten. Sehr leicht herb, steigend süß. Weich, mild röstig, ganz leicht bitter. Nett. 8/10/11/11/12/11
