COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Taanilinn is the Estonian for Danish Town - this is where the capital Tallinn got its name from and this is where Denmark got their national flag Dannebrog in 1219, when it fell from the sky.
Põhjala and To Øl created this beer together to honour the old Danish heritage of Tallinn. Deep complex oatmeal stout aged for months on Cognac barrels, spiced with all the best from the liquors of Estonia.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet. Strikes with noble and subtle aroma of cognac first after opening, later this is top quality coffee and chocolate. Significantly acidic (well-done thought), well-emphasized heavy roast counterbalanced with the sweetness of plum and cherry preseres. Extra dense, complex and full-bodied, neither of its 14% of ABV can be distinguished. Lacks some wet board and noble cognac notes. Love these imperial stouts that are not dominated in any side and where every single note is balanced with another one. Excellent beer!

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2018 Zwart bier met compacte mokkakleurige schuimkraag die redelijk snel inzakt tot fijn laagje. Chocolade, mokka, licht houterig, cognac, donker fruit, kruidig. Licht boozy in de neus. Volop chocolade en barrel en een vleugje (koffie)bitter in de (warmende) afdronk. Puur genietersbier. Top.

(bottle) Aroma: cognac , wine-ish tart note, vanilla and hint of coffee/ Appearance: black color, medium-sized off-white head. Taste: sweet, flavour of vanilla, cogniac, ripe fruits, coffee, milk chocolate and spices. Palate: medium to full body, low carboantion. Overall: Yummy, you can rly taste cognac mixed with some spices and vanilla, One of the best from those guys for sure.

Almost black with small brown head. Bread, roasted malt and cognac notes in the aroma. Quite strong bitter, enough fruity sour and slightly sweet taste rich of roasted grain, chocolate, dried fruits and cognac notes. Nice!

Bodney Towers bottle share. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Softish palate, slightly viscous, decent fine carbonation. Rich dark malts, good dark chocolate. Fruity dark chocolate and spirity chocolate liqueur. Slicy brandy and a touch of woody bitterness. Bitterish cherry. Rich ripe fruits. Smooth finish leaves a spicy fruity linger. Full on and full of goodness. Wish I had another.

Bottle shared at home. Black with light tan head. Big sweet deep roasted chocolate malts, big boozy cognac, fruity apple and prune, cloves, dried dark fruit, light peat, tobacco. Big sweet and bitter. Full body, oily and sugary. Soft carbonation. Untappd 4.4 myth busted!
