Cask, Doric Arch. Clear straw, thin white head. Hoppy grassy with slight hint of sweetness. Mouth is much the same, over-hopped with a slight sweet linger. OK Ethereal (2421) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUL 26, 2007
UPDATED: MAR 11, 2008 Cask at The Doric Arch (the stupid name that Fullers gave the Head of Steam ;-) Pours a very yellow gold. The taste is very dry with a lipsmacking finish (as expected from the name) and overall this is ok. Re-rated as I tried it again and it was a lot better than the previous time. A Mes rate:
Cask at whatever stupid name Fullers have given to The Head of Steam. So-so beer. Very straight forward but a lovely dollop of creamy hops all round. Not as dry as they make out. Nice vanilla lick for the finish. GarethYoung (1111) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - OCT 10, 2006
[Cask at Troonfest] Aroma of caramel, peach syrup and some floral notes. medium bodied, dry finish. DonMagi (5593) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 8, 2006
Aroma gives loads of hops, grassy floural and citruis all in the one go. Taste is pale malts from the sweetness, the citrus and grassy hops finish this off nicely.

Pale golden color, small white head, some lace. Honey-flowery hops in the nose. Dry mouthfeel, grassy hopping, buttery - hints of diacetyl. Long dry bitter aftertaste. Some similarities to Czech pilsners.

Twist, Stockholm. Deep golden colour, mediumsized creamy white head. Fruits vegetables and malts in aroma. Flavour is grassy malts, some wooden hints. Strawish grassy finish and aftertaste with slight notes of honey. Extremely dry.
Handpump at Cavens Arms, Dumfries. This is my idea of a good Ale, hoppy and refreshing. dnas2 (705) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - AUG 8, 2006
Handpump at GBBF 2006. Straw coloured, with almost no head. Negligable perfumed scent. Watery. Honey and oranges. Bitter. TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - APR 22, 2006
Half pint pulled at the Corn Mill in Llangollen (Denbighshire, Wales), poured milky white, settling to a pale clear straw yellow with a pure white bubbly head. A clean grassy hop aroma - very lagerish (maybe hints of pineapple). A crisp dry palate (lagerish again), but also a flowery smoothness. Some fruit flavours and a dry grassy finish. Good for a hot day.
