Cask handpull at Hamilton Hall London as Phoenix Double Gold. Golden yellow, clear and still, scummy beige head. Aroma is airy, faint sugars. Body is light, soft carbonation. Taste is quite watery, musty, touches of glue and citrus, lacking punch and bitterness. Quite watery and sugary. Hmm, its ok. Sort of like a thin hop tea with some honey added. Not far off being a decent beer I think, but not doing it for me on todays showing.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2017 Drinks well all the way down. Nice bitter taste with good malt flavours. Hint of caramel and fruit. Best bitter in a while. Tried almost a year after first tasting. Really still great. + 0.2 as my tasting has improved with experience. Recommend. Apple and honey in there as well.

Cask at JDW, very ;lively - needed multiple glasses pulled to get one full one, then deep gold with a lasting white head and a biscuit, peach and grapefruit nose. Initrial light sweetness is swept away by a drying citrus and malt body, hints of bread, grapes and grapefruit. Very nice.
