handpump at Fat Cat, Sheffield. One of the few English IPAs that comes close to earning the title. Not strong enough to be a true IPA, but the hops are pretty much there. A citrus aroma, grapefruit flavour, and deliciously dry finish harrisoni (18578) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JUN 6, 2005
Gravity cask at Ashford Beer Festival. Orangey brown colour, american hop nose distinctive of Phoenix beers, some fruit malts some citrus, hoppy dry finish with more tangy hops. Like an american IPA but still good for all that DanielBrown (4502) - Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, ENGLAND - SEP 20, 2004
UPDATED: APR 24, 2005 Hand pulled at the Anchor, Birmingham. Brightish yellow, with a frothy head. Something approaching the US interpretation of IPA, and intentionally so. A very savoury and crunchy hoppiness - defined throughout. Some sulphur, but not in a detrimental way. Dry, quenching. Nice stuff.
