Clear medium brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sweet malt, light toffee. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, sweet malt, caramel, yeast, light roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Bottle at home. Clear deep reddish brown pour, huge off-white head. Aroma is spicy, slightly roasty, some herbs and with licorice. Flavor is dry, spicy and bitter. Thick body and lively carbonation. A bit boring, but well balanced and clean. Christos (5909) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - NOV 13, 2013
300 ml bottle, into a tulip glass at home. ABV 7%
Pours a brown coloured beer, with a tall off white head. Thick and soapy, with good retention. Light lacing left on the glass.
Aroma of light caramel, quite a touch of alcohol for a 7%, spices.
Taste is sweet at first, with caramel, toffee, sugar, little spices. Light bitterness on the finish and on the aftertaste, with a soft alcohol burn.
Body is quite thin for a dark beer of this alcohol level, the carbonation is on good levels on the other hand. Nice dryness on the palate too.
Overall quite good an now that I am thinking about it the obvious signs of alcohol are most welcomed, it’s a winter seasonal afterall, meant to warm you up. yespr (48968) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - AUG 15, 2013
