500ml bottle. Opaque, black beer with frothy tan head, nice lacing. Roasty, toasty chocolatey aroma with nice whiffs of caramel, subdued hops. Medium, creamy mouthfeel. Very nicely balanced porter verging on stout territory. I will drink more of this as soon as the Store re-stocks what I have bought.
Opaque black color with strong glass clinging activity. Thick creamy brown 2 finger sparkling head, lasting around 5 to 10 minutes, with a good amount of legs.
Aromas of pleasant butterscotch. Flavors of cocoa, coffee, oak, nutty, roasted grains, herbal spices. Quite earthy with a strong syrupy feel, but still sharp.
Smooth thick body with prickly carbonation. Medium to strong finish, ending with a slight dry thick molassy feel with soft earthiness.
Overall decent quality craft with good flavors that are well intensified, but lacking some freshness. Very metallic at start but smooths out with some time. The feel is a little off though. jksipa (919) - Newmarket, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 14, 2015
Deep mahogany with a one finger khaki head that fades quickly. Nose of dark chocolate, espresso, vanilla and roasted nuts. Flavour leans more to the roast side with a dominant nuttiness and a mild bitter chocolate. Medium- creamy mouth with slightly soft carbonation. Just an OK porter. plaugher (475) - Nova Scotia, CANADA - JAN 11, 2015
500ml bottle into an English pint. Pours a deep black with minimal, quickly-dissipating head. Nose is a bit roasty, a bit funky. Mild flavour of butterscotch and a bit nutty? Kind of a slightly sour/bitter combo. Only ok (par for the course with Picaroon’s I’ve found). DomD (303) - Halifax, Nova Scotia, CANADA - NOV 14, 2014
Poured from bottle. Aromas of vanilla, chocolate, coffee. Very mild bitter taste. Medium body, creamy texture. A typical porter, well done. Travlr (24315) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - SEP 20, 2014
Draft in Moncton. Deep amber maroon color, tan head. Aroma of cola, cocoa. Taste is slightly sour butterscotch. Hmmm.

Gotta love that sweet pooch on the front. Porters really would be a mans best friend if they could. Very dark brown with a tan head and smelling of mocha, cream and caramel. It’s bittersweet with coffee, smoke and fruit being prominent. I really enjoyed this mid-mouthfeel Porter. Hidden_Pooch (518) - Stratford, Prince Edward Island, CANADA - MAY 22, 2014
Bottle. I always enjoy Picaroons labels, and this reminded me of my late pooch. A nice roasted malt aroma. It tasted of coffee and toasted nuts, and maybe a little molasses. A nice medium bodied brew with little head. Not a bad little porter. Rogers_Dieppe (1) - New Brunswick, CANADA - APR 12, 2014 does not count
Nice dark colour, pretty minimal head, very pleasant taste... medium body, well-balanced overall. wolffish (659) - Saint-Donat, CANADA - JAN 26, 2014
Pas mauvaise mais rien de spécial dans cette bière. La torréfaction et le niveau de sucre sont très bien par contre. Frothmeister (792) - Ontario, CANADA - SEP 19, 2013
500ml bottle. Pours a dark, dark, dark brown with a red hue and a two finger tan head. Aroma is cocoa, dried fruit, a faint note that makes me think pecan pie, and light notes of molasses, ash, coffee, caramel, and a little bit of alcohol. Taste starts sweet with molasses, and cocoa notes, followed by some light caramel, and a nice espresso like bitterness in the finish. Other than being slightly lighter in body, this is a solid pint, and if I could, I would definitely buy it again.
