Cask at the Magpie & Crown, poured a straw-gold with a fluffy lacy white head, floral hops and some citrus on the nose, plenty of light fruity malt and a little butterscotch on the palate, the finish is dryly bitter. A very nice golden ale. sm89walt (2064) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - AUG 28, 2010
Cask - The Duke of Wellington, Norwich. First & best of the lot I had here. Poured a bright yellow with a small though lasting, creamy white head leaving a uniform lacing. Toasty malt, lemon & floral hop aromas, some nuttiness at the back. Zesty lemon, grassy, bit of toastiness and decent, mild grapefuit character. Almonds in the aftertaste following a lingering, dry bitterness. Soft, low carbonation, light-medium body with a good length finish. evergreen0199 (3320) - Northwood, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 8, 2010
Cask at Ealing beer festival. A pale golden/straw coloured pour with a smallish head. Nice hoppy, floral aroma. Tastes fresh, malty, hoppy, citrus fruit, dry, crisp, bitter. Lingering aftertaste that makes you want more. Always reach for Pictish when I see it, lovely stuff. gowdy (1097) - Erskine, SCOTLAND - JUL 7, 2010

On tap. Mild grassy hops. Decent hop and fruit aroma. Otherwise, this just struck me as very empty.

Cask. A hazy light golden beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of malt and flowery hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of flowers and hops. The body is light. Lovely refreshing. downender (8584) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 20, 2010
On gravity at Bristol beer festival, 19/03/10. Clear gold with a slight white head. Pleasant tropical fruit and citrus hop aroma , with some hay and touch of sweet malts. Flavours of lemon, pineapple and sweet biscuits, leading to grapefruit hops and a lingering, dry finish. My first Pictish beer in a while, and proof that its still an excellent brewery. wyzzywyz22 (2108) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - JAN 28, 2010
Cask, Marble Arch Inn, Manchester. Clear light gold colour with a good looking white head and superb wee bit of lace. Nose had heaps of fragrant hoppage and fresh citrus. Clean, crisp, bright and fresh, this was in great condition. Fruitiness and hoppiness all in perfect proportion. So very downable. Bitterness quite pleasantly restrained and a lovely balance. Yay, yay and thrice yay !!

13th March 2008. Hoppy fruity beer with a dry finish. A little more zing than usual for the type. DruncanVeasey (8225) - NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - OCT 14, 2009
Plain old ’Alchemist’, cask gravity, Nottingham 09. Brilliant orange amber with a foaming billow of suds; unprecedented. Beautiful crushed nut maltiness, cashew, herbal and chick pea notes, serious zip of hop comingthrough; lychee, pineapple, but dry and punchy with it. Massive balance again. Leafy, tropical, floral, sweet and dry. Lovely.
