Pictish are usually associated with the golden ales in which they specialise but they certainly know how to make dark ones too. This is a lovely mild, very dark in colour, with a quite full body. Roasted malt abounds, with subtle chocolate, coffee and gentle dry bitterness on the finish. A top class mild. cask (handpump), Moorcock, Littleborough.

Dirty brown with a bubbly head. Nutty malt with some slight coffee notes. Actually the malt is superb. Tiny bit of choc and roast and a good earthy finish with very light bitterness. A good mild.
Cask Conditioned at The White Lion, Fewcott, Oxon. Dark brown wih ruby glow, malty head. By heck they know how to brew a mild in Lancashire, richly roasted with coffee and chocolate notes, a little thin on the tongue as it should be and a nice blackberry fruity finish. Nice and steady.

Cask @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Very dark red with a thin head. Very mild tasting with light roasted malts evident in both its aroma and taste. ThreeCats (1000) - ISRAEL - JUN 25, 2016
Nice clear mahogany with a bit of head. Aroma of roast, toast, and coffee, with some bitter chocolate notes. Taste it roasty, toasty, and so damn drinkable that I finished half a glass in one swallow. kook (2033) - Perth, Western Australia, AUSTRALIA - MAY 19, 2006

Dark coloured and quite bitter for a mild of this ABV, drinks stronger too and has character.
