faroeviking (10911) - FAROE ISLANDS - JAN 31, 2008
"Piebalgas Gasais". Bottle. Pours a clear amber colour with a big short lasting white head. Aroma of toasted malt and some hops. Sweet flavour with toasted malt, caramel and a soft bitter hoppiness.

Tap at Pale golden pour, the aroma is moderately sweet. A simple sort of pale malt aroma with a little bit of light zesty character and some light floral character. A pretty nice, fresh tasty lager. A little bit of lingering zestiness on the finish.

Marduk (7694) - Reval, ESTONIA - JUL 27, 2012
Draught (5,7% abv Nefiltrets). Clear deep amber color. Small white head, disappears quickly. Malty, yeast in aroma. Sweet, bitter taste. I can feel alcohol in it so its not that great.

larsga (7539) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 28, 2013
Small white head. Clear yellow body with carbonation. Mealy herbal aroma with grassy mealy notes. Dry-sweet herbal grassy taste with spicy notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish, coarseish mouthfeel. Dryish herbal fruity aftertaste with spicy earthy grassy notes. Not bad, but a little boring. (0.3l draft at Citi Laiki, Riga.)

Sigmund (7464) - Tau, NORWAY - AUG 2, 2007
500 ml bottle, bought in Riga, as "Piebalgas Alus Piebalga". ABV is 5.6%. This is a "gaisais alus" (= pale beer). Unpasteurised. Pale golden colour, large and lasting white head. Sweetish malty and slightly fruity aroma, hints of honey. Sweet malty flavour, too sweet for a pale lager. Notes of honey. Alcohol is noticeable. Some hops in the finish. Unusual lager, but not undrinkable.

olsvammel (7220) - Örebro, SWEDEN - JUL 29, 2009
It poured a clear golden liquid with a small foam that left some lacing. It didn’t have any odor at all. Tasted like a cheap kind of sparkled water.

50cl Bottle on the bus. Aroma is sweet, malty, cheap lager, light grassy. Flavour is rather bitter, malty, grassy, bile. Light bodied. Ouch..

Rather sweet brew, lots of soft fruit and flowers. Boiled veg - carrots, califlower. Not the first beer to seek out in Latvia!

Emil (6065) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 8, 2006
Bottle. Golden colour with a big white head. Malty aroma and a sweet malty taste. Medium body with a light dry finish. boring.
