Bottle in Riga.
A whiff of boiled veg her, but the beer is certainly not bad - cereals with grassy hops in the finish. Very decent for a lager of this strength! Oakes (17274) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 2, 2004
Light gold colour with a lively sparkle and rich head. Rich hoppy aroma (fruity, earthy) with scattered yeast notes. Sweet, very clean pale malt notes intermingle with fruity, earthy hop. Great idea, but the flavour is too light! Needs about 10-15 IBUs more to be relevant. Arayaga2 (2188) - portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 29, 2006
Pale golden with big bubbled white head. Faintly sweet aroma with a bit of honey. Taste is faintly sweet with a hop edge. Not too shabby at $2.10/16oz freekyp (2192) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - SEP 20, 2005
UPDATED: SEP 26, 2005 Hazy golden yellow with a thick rocky white head. Aroma is bready with a hint of citric tartness and butter notes. Mouthfeel is very soft and smooth with nary a stray flavor. A grainy finish with a light kiss of hops ends the swallow. A long grainy aftertaste sticks around for a long while after the swallow. A very decent lager. Vells (1833) - Rīga, LATVIA - FEB 17, 2013
Clear golden with medium white head, that disappears quite fast. Bit Lacing.
Aroma.. grassy hops, bit malty, fruity. Quite well balanced with no unpleasant spikes.
Sweet with quite bitter finish, hints of sour.
Decent beer for price/performance

09.01.05 500ml bottle. Just slightly hazed yellow gold with firm, rocky white froth. Aroma is light and mild with french bread, salted white butter, sweet. Flavor is also quite mild, and sweet like bread, light grasses; hints of buttery diacetyl but in a completely favorable way as it melds with an underlying mineral quality. Decent stuff. 500 ml bottle, bought in Riga. ABV is 4.6%. Is this beer possibly named after the notorious liar Baron von Münchausen? Pale golden colour, large and lasting head. Fairly malty sweetish aroma with notes of butterscotch and honey. The flavour is also quite sweet - too sweet for a pale lager, but reasonably malty with slightly metallic hops in the finish. Drinkable, but to call it a GREAT beer would be a lie, worthy of Baron von Münchausen! NJBeerman013 (1054) - Hamilton Twp., New Jersey, USA - JAN 17, 2010
500 ml bottle. Pours light golden, pure white head. Light cereal grains and grassy hops in the aroma, flavor adds a corn like sweetness. Kind of blah, not much going on, but a totally unoffensive lager. muzzlehatch (4950) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 24, 2006
500 ml bottle served well chilled from a Zwiec glass. The head is endless, decaying so slowly that I despair of gett a drink before it’s toasty warm -- ok a bit exaggerated but the foam is impressively full, rocky and stable with thick patches of lacing, all atop a quite clear honey-gold body....a light waft of skunkiness is soon superseded in the nose by bready, lightly honey-scented malts with perhaps a hint of adjunct....sweet, soft body thins out considerably a moment after the tongue’s refreshment, leaving little of interest to inhabit the lower passages, perhaps some faint herbal touches but mostly just fairly bland, watery if passable mushy malts....carbonation low, contributing to a syrupy, cloying aftertaste. Mediocre all in all, though it sure looks nice. faroeviking (10838) - FAROE ISLANDS - FEB 2, 2008
Bottle. Pours a golden colour with a medium short lasting white head. Aroma of grains and malt. Thin mouthfeel. The flavour is a bit sweet with malt, grains and some bitter hops.
