Tap at the brewpub. Black like cola. Off-white head. Nutty, roasty, smoky aroma. Fairly thick mouthfeel. Cocoa dust taste. Solid example of this style. crossovert (14233) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 2, 2017

7/27/2010: Piece Dark Bier... Aroma: Milk chocolate with a splash of coffee. Appearance: Chesnut color; semi-opaque; no head. Flavor: Dark fruits (plum); gives way to chocolate and roasted and steeped grains; small herbal bitterness in the finish. Palate: Average. Overall: Finally, something a little interesting...

Reviewed from notes.
Pours near black with a very thin head and not too much lacing. Nose is roasted malt and not much else. Taste has a light roast character with a hint of sweetness but is mostly pretty dry. Feel is light with good carbonation. Easy sipper but nothing is really there.

On tap at the brewery into a mug...Pours a watery looking dark brown with TONS of amber highlights that is slightly darker than a coca cola. A very light tan head that is gone quickly...The aroma and taste are all a sweet German bock. Aroma is super matly with sweet brown sugar and caramel and the taste is the same, almost too sweet though and not enough bite to make you want to drink more. Easy to drink at 4% but not worth getting.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a deep amber colored body with a thin, creamy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is alright. Some caramel, earth, biscuit, and cocoa with a light roast. Flavor is better. Light roast and nice caramel with a moderate earth. More biscuit and cocoas before finishing mostly dry with a light bitterness and malty roast. Medium length aftertaste following a medium body and light carbonation. Overall, a decent schwarzbier. Not the most impressive, but enjoyable. SamGamgee (2585) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - SEP 11, 2010
Draught at the brewpub. Dark brown, beige head. Toasty malt and some chocolate in the aroma. Toffee, dark bread crust, light chocolate, and faint hops in the flavor. Seems a bit muted overall. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Sweetish overall with a round malt profile, but could be brighter. anders37 (27898) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JUL 9, 2010
