Fairly clear golden body with a thick, quickly diminishing white head. The aroma is just chuck-full of hops. Marvelous pine, bittersweet grapefruit, mango and apricot, light grain and a hint of malt sweetness, but mostly just hops. The body is on the lighter side, but just what I wanted from this beer. The flavor was more bitter hoppy goodness. Loads of bitter pine resin and succulent citrus fruit. Bright, oily lemon zest pops up from time to time and meshes reasonably well with the minute amount of malt used to give some body to the hop juice. The finish is long and bitter with else to distract the tongue. A tasty, drinkable and extremely bitter pale ale.
Orange pour from draft at piece. White fluffy head. Has a dry biscuit flavor for a pale - still good and the fruits you'd expect. Average pale overall Christpuncher (3107) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 5, 2015
incredible grapefruity and bubblegummy pale ale. has a nice hopps backbone and is just crushable. would be a great summer refreshing beer. smells citrsucy...pours gold inb color with a thin whit eheadd. ilovedarkbeer (2737) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - DEC 25, 2014
Pours a pale amber color with a soapy white head. Notes of caramel, flowers, earth, and bread. jmagnus87 (2912) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - FEB 22, 2014
Draft at piece. From notes. Loads of citrus and candied pine sap. Pretty good, but there is something just off that I can’t quite put my finger on. tmoreau (4289) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - FEB 16, 2014
On tap at the brewery bar, and dispensed to a nonic pint glass, displaying a clear, orangey gold color, with average persistence to the frothy, white head foam, and wavy cling to the lacing. The nose was perfumey, esters as apricot/peach, and light citrus as orange. Medium bodied, with lively carbonation, the hop bitterness was medium strength, citrusy, with a bit of grassiness, and supported nicely by a solid, bready malt character. A well balanced, drinkable APA.

A golden ale with a thin lacing light mocha head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with floral and resinous hops, citrus notes, very nice. In mouth, a smooth fruity biscuit malt with floral hops, orange pulp, light and quaffable. On tap at brewery. dinkle50 (1465) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 8, 2012
Cloudy orange pour with a nice head that hangs around. No lace. Aroma of grain and some tropical fruit. Mouth is creamy. Taste is full of tropical fruit, pine and a little grass. A mellow drinker. jason1970 (143) - Illinois, USA - SEP 5, 2012
Wow! Great pale ale. Orange and fresh cut grass on the nose. Beautiful orangish color and a nice thin white head. It’s pretty to look at, but even better to drink. Great flavors of orange citrus, fresh grass, floral, pine, and some sweetness at the back. Smooth but strong. Fresh tasting out of the tap. Really drinkable. This place makes 4 or my favorite beers that I would add to any must try list for Chicago. MrChopin (4304) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - NOV 23, 2011
Draft at piece. Hazy orange with thick white head that lasts for an hour. Nose is light orange and pine, flavor similar though a bit sweeter, thinner, short finish with more fruit and sugary pine. A bit candy-like in the end. Low carbonation muddles, needs more contrast here, pretty plain as a result. dumontn (530) - St. Joseph, Michigan, USA - NOV 20, 2011
Pours hazy orange with thin head and decent retention. Aroma is citra hop berry and tangerine character, grapefruit, and sweet caramel undertones. Taste is toasty with berries, tangerine, and grapefruit. Body is medium, thin, low carb, juicy bitter finish. Overall, a great pale that utilizes my favorite hop varietal.
