Solid altbier. Great blend of flavors. Hard to get excited about a bland low hop beer with l the aggressive IPAs but this is nice. BVery (11458) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - SEP 13, 2012
Tap at the brewpub. Rich amber pour with minimal head. Aroma of crackers and cookies. Maybe some toffee sweetness. Decent little hop backing behind those bready toasty malts. Well done. drdisque (899) - Illinois, USA - OCT 1, 2011
Pours on the dark side for an alt. Initial flavour is slightly roasted malt but not overwhelming and very balanced. A little bit sweet and fruity but again, pretty restrained. Lingering malty finish. BeerandBlues2 (14018) - Escondido, California, USA - JUN 12, 2011
Tap. Pours clear amber/brown with a medium, fizzy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, toast), light hops, and clean lager character. Flavor is heavy malt, light hop bitterness, and a clean character. Light body, low warmth, medium carbonation and a lightly sweet finish. hombrepalo (1972) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 30, 2011
16oz Pint at Piece. Copper in color with a thick white head. Slightly bitter and hoppy aroma with some malts underneath. Very dry and bitter at the start of the flavor with a smooth and slightly corny malt middle. Very dry and bitter on the aftertaste.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear deep amber with a tan head that dissipated slowly to the edges. Aroma is full of sweet malts and bread with a bit of backing grassy hops. Flavor was similar but a bit thin. There was only a hint of grass and the sweet grains and bread notes were lighter as well. JAF737300 (1291) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 1, 2011
Pours dark amber with some light hop notes. The malt is dense with hnits of fruit but some heavy hits of grain that show off a bread like quality. chibuck (3521) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 23, 2011
It pours a redish color but it looked watery and clear with a light white head and minimal lacing.
It smelled hoppy with notes of wheat.
The taste was watery and bitter, it went down like water and not at all drinkable. Very bad effort. Dogbrick (14316) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 31, 2010
Sample at the brewpub. Pours a dark amber-brown color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Top ring of lacing with strings underneath. Caramel malt in the nose with touches of fruit. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, caramel, fruit and some hops. The finish is malty with a caramel aftertaste. Above average overall.
