Tap. Pours clear amber/brown with a medium, fizzy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, toast), light hops, and clean lager character. 16oz Pint at Piece. Copper in color with a thick white head. Slightly bitter and hoppy aroma with some malts underneath. Very dry and bitter at the start of the flavor with a smooth and slightly corny malt middle. Very dry and bitter on the aftertaste.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear deep amber with a tan head that dissipated slowly to the edges. Aroma is full of sweet malts and bread with a bit of backing grassy hops. It pours a redish color but it looked watery and clear with a light white head and minimal lacing.
It smelled hoppy with notes of wheat.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a dark amber-brown color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Top ring of lacing with strings underneath. Caramel malt in the nose with touches of fruit. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, caramel, fruit and some hops. The finish is malty with a caramel aftertaste. growler. aroma is nicely advanced caramel that touches on toffee and the beginnings of delectable toast. appearance is perfectly clarified copper with nice head that reduces and laces well. flavor is delicious toastiness with hints of plum and more caramel. soft, fruity, maple syrup as well. plum moves to sweet grape. no cloying caramel in sight. i was a bit worried at tackling 64oz of an altbier but this is a surprise.
