Honey/amber in color with a holding, cream-colored head (which is an odd feat for tonights cask ales). Sweet citrus and pepper forms a hoppy aroma while ABV reveals late, suggesting that this Barley Wine is quite young. Potency is pleasant & contributes to a dry body. Flavor is rather one-dimensional in its hoppiness and I feel like I’d rather wait ’til this aged to have it in a more mellow state.

Copper pour ligth tan head with decent lacing. Light cereals and grass in the aroma touch of fruit a piece of raw grains, lots of sweet notes, some hints of grahm cracker. Avg pal. Sweet graham cracker lightly bitter grass flavor fairly acidic, too much alcohol comes through. Not bad but I prefer the camel.
GTMW: Served by a very fun & cute brunette should be worth some bonus points. JaBier (8132) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - MAY 1, 2010
On tap at Piece. Hazy amber/brown pour with a medium beige head. Hoppy nose that’s slightly messy with some malt at the end. Grainy and caramelly malt flavor with some alcohol before a citrusy hop finish. troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - APR 15, 2014
[Tap] Draught at the brewpub. Reddish amber in color without much head to it. Caramel, molasses and brown sugar in the nose. More of the same in the taste. Also hints of vanilla, alcohol and figs. Hops are present, but not as forward as I expected. Sticky and coating mouthfeel. vyvvy (6574) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - APR 12, 2007
Sampled at Schlafly’s Repeal of Prohibition Fest along with Beerdrenched. Pours hazy deep orange with a frothy tan head. The aroma has cotton candy sweetness, toasted malt, tobacco and green hops. Full body with some fizzy carbonation. The flavor starts with toasted grainy malt with a moderate amount of sweetness with some fruitiness and grassiness. The finish is very sweet with apparent ABV and caramel. Okay barleywine.

Brown pour with a thin head. Aroma is very sweet. Lots of sugar. Taste is also very sweet. Full of candy and vanilla. Very bitter aftertaste. Full mouth. Driftwood6 (214) - USA - MAR 4, 2008
On tap at brewpub. I don’t know-- drinking this all I kept thinking about was how good that Behemoth tasted on tap at 3F the previous weekend. I guess my point is-- this barley is very decent, but nothing unique or outstanding. I guess it hides the alcohol ok, but flavor could use a little more kick. dm9831 (1512) - Monee, Illinois, USA - MAR 8, 2009
brown color, medium off white head, nice lace. light malty nose with hints of pine and grapefruit. flavor follows nose flavor of malt, dry fruit, a hint of alcohol. medium body, dry finish. quite an enjoyable entry. sampled at day of the living ales, 2009.
