Sampled at the brewery. Pours amber with a white head. Aroma of citrusy and resinous hops, pale and caramel malts, and light dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. A solid pale ale. Christpuncher (3191) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 26, 2014

[Tap] Draught at the brewpub. Darker golden color with a large white head. Citrus hops and sweet grains in the nose. Flavors of citrus hops, pine sap, and dry grainy notes. Lingering finish is nice and bitter. Tasty. WillDunn (28) - - MAR 14, 2014
UPDATED: MAR 16, 2014 Fresh on tap. The Weight is a very nice beer, but the batch the judges tried at the 2012 GABF must have shown brighter, as it beat Zombie Dust, which feels a bit silly at this point. Perhaps the debate was over whether ZD was actually more of an IPA. And it's true: The Weight is what I think of from the better traditional APAs, but will disappoint if Zombir Dust is what you want.

A smooth and crushable pale ale. Enough hops to make it interesting, low enough alcohol to not get you too plastered. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - FEB 1, 2013
Couple drafts on tap at the brewpub (Chicago, IL). Been meaning to get out and try this for awhile. Pours a richer faintly hazed amber orange hue. Firely glow throughout, summer sunset meets my eyes, even in this environment. A frothy loose whitish head atop dies to a film laces small. Aromas are richer deep grapefruit, some florals, a touch resinous. Very grapefruit juice and rind driven, touches of bready and almost a toasty malt feel. Some lemon, grass. Initial is thinner, a light body meets a firm hop bitterness. Strong grapefruit and rind, juice and lemons. Touches of grass, florals, gentle bready malts presence just kisses gently even as we move through the middle. Light bodied, richly bitter and hop flavored. Perhaps a bit thin but quite "crushable". Dry and grapefruit ridden. Pretty nice beer albeit a bit thin. Nice very fresh and vibrant offering here, if a bit one sided and one dimensional as far as that flavor profile. Still, I’d buy it a bunch.
