Damn these guys make great beer. I haven’t had a bad one yet. This Imperial/Double IPA was really hoppy but balanced. Beautiful a string aroma of citrus, floral, hoppy, grapefruit and some sweetness. Pours a very nice dark orange with a small off-white head. Lots of lacing and pretty robust mouth feel. Taste is where it’s at with this beer. You can really pull out great flavors with each sip. Grapefruit, kiwi, guava, honeysuckle, grass, resin...it’s all in there. Another incredible brew from Chicago’s best. BeerandBlues2 (14415) - Escondido, California, USA - JUN 12, 2011
Tap. Pours copper/amber with a medium, fizzy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is medium malt (bread, cookie, caramel), heavy hops (floral, citrus, pine), and medium fruity esters (apple/pear). Flavor is malt with heavy hops and light alcohol. Medium body, warmth, and carbonation with a dry finish. deyholla (12676) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 15, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear orangish gold with a white head that dissipated completely. Aroma was full of hops with resinous grapefruit, a bit of light citrus and a backing sweet grains. Flavor began with citrus but quickly became full of grapefruit and resinous pine with a sweet grain backbone. JAF737300 (1291) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 14, 2011
Awesome DIPA. Pours orange amber with minimally no head. Big hit of citrus that drives into a complex line of citrus and spice but without anyone out balancing the other. jlanning215 (363) - Peoria, Illinois, USA - APR 4, 2011
This beer had character. Juicy throughout. Tons of sweet fruit but it wasnt sweet. Nice malts. The carmeliness hits you then the burst of hop love. Finishes slightly dry. Solid brew.

I had this on tap into a tasting glass at Piece. Its dark gold with a hint of orange good retention and lacing. The aroma is superlight for a dipa, a little piney hops, small grapefruit but thats it. The taste is really nice though, super easy to drink and flavorful not overpowering at all. If you want a smooth piney ipa, give this a shot. puzzl (3264) - New York, New York, USA - JUN 30, 2010
Tap at the brewpub. Explosive grapefruit, tropical juices, lemon, cherry. Wow! Light body, screaming hop prowess, with a perfectly light bitterness to make this juicy enough even your kids would drink it. No sugar to be found. Perfect West Coast IPA, bursting with freshness. Can’t ask for much more than this in a IIPA. satan165 (1020) - River Grove, Illinois, USA - MAY 9, 2010
bright grapefruit aroma is nutty backbone. well developed caramel as well. aroma turns floral in time and the edge comes off. ultra cloudy, hazy with oxygenated head and no lacing, nearly nil carb. bracing grapefruit attack in flavor. another killer IIPA that got beat with the ugly stick (amarillo brillo being the other). Draft at the brewpub. Deep bronze. Wicked piney aroma and a following viscous outdoorsy hoppiness. Wicked. (#3891, 5/6/2010) BeerBunker (966) - Burbank, Illinois, USA - MAY 2, 2010
On tap at Piece. Pours orange with a small white head. Aroma is of hops, pine, citrus, and caramel. Taste is of very bitter hops and citrus. Lots of grapefruit as well. Malt backbone was very dry. Lingering taste of hops. It was strange, the extremely dry malt somehow balanced with the very juicy hop character. Muothfeel is very carbonated. It was good, but different.
