On tap at Piece. Poured hazy deep yellowy-brown with a short, creamy beige head. The aroma found fresh, ripe darker fruits and caramel sweetness with pine, peppery spices, and citrus notes surrounding.. sweeter overall and well-balanced. The flavor had a warm fruity sweetness with caramel at the core.. heavy bitterness surrounded, mostly in the form of fruit with lesser herbal and earthy notes).. engaging and again, well-balanced throughout.. left a long impression on the finish. Medium-bodied with a grainy, tacky texture that left no taste bud untouched.. moderate carbonation. Very solid brew! msears (10) - chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 24, 2008
Whoa whoa whoa! One of the best hoppy ales I have had in quite some time. Very spicy, hoppy and full of great flavors like cinnamon. I can drink this by the growler and relish every drop. If you stop in Piece make sure you pick this bad boy up!

Tasted 4/30/08. Part ! of the sampler. Hazy and amber hued. Off-white head. Bright crisp nose. Lime and melon. Medium bodied with a bright crisp palate. Tight hops. Hop dominant. Sugary citrus candy and grapefruit hop palate. Tart tight and rolling flavors. Tingling effervescence. Delicious with a great hop palate. Solid pizza beer! I’ve drank a multitude of pale ales and IPA’s. This could easily be taken as an IPA. It tastes better than any IPA I’ve had or American Pale Ale. The resiny hop character did not overwhelm the malt base and they worked perfect together. Keep brewing this beer. drewbeerme (3921) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 13, 2008
on tap. pours muddy amber with thin off white head. aroma of grapefruit, tropical fruits, floral, and as it warmed slightly manuer. flavor is really bitter, grapefruit, citrus, slightly acidic. pretty one dimensional and lacks finese. watery to medium body. over carbonated. how is this not listed as an IPA, its pretty high in alcohol and bitter as hell.

Another great beer from Piece! Hazy amber pur with a thinyellow head. Citrus notes in the nose. A great balance of citrusy hops and caramel malts. Wish you could get this in bottles. NobleSquirrel (3439) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 4, 2008
Very nice beer, bordering on a bit of an IPA. Big and hoppy, plenty of malty goodness to back it up. Very nice. Walt (2449) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAY 4, 2008
Pour is opaque warm amber with a thin sticky off white head...smell is super grapefruity with lots of soapy pine resin notes...taste is slightly caramel and toasty at first, with a strong piney citric bitterness coming in...nice full mouthfeel and lingering bitterness in the finish...another solid hop bomb from Piece during the hop shortage...fuck it, throw another couple of pounds in...goo job guys! xnoxhatex (1305) - Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA - MAY 1, 2008
On tap at the brewpub. HaZy capper brown with slight white head. Aroma is big citrus hops with some pine but also a large caramel front. Resiny citrus hop front flavor with caramel and some pine, very well hopped. Medium to full creamy body. This is very fresh and resiny, very enjoyable. I like this, its an easy drinking pale ale that went great with the pizza. Not fruity or sweet, and not so strong that it needs to be sipped. Hoppiness is the main attraction, but it is by no means over or under done.
