Clear light to medium orange amber color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, notes, chestnut notes, peat - rubber - burnt rubber notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20081018]

33 cL bottle (as Pietra Ambré, same ABV). Pours golden orange to light brown with a small white head. Grainy and malty aroma, slight metallic. Sweet fruity flavour with a nice caramel maltbase. The fruityness blends nicely into the bitterness in the finish. Very nice.

An amber beer with no head. The aroma is very faint. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and münchner malts. The flavor is also flat and ends on a slight bitterness. An average beer - but below my expectations from pretty good reviews.

Warning! Early amateur rating! Crisp and dry beer. A bitter and smoky flavour blooms and carries through the finish to the aftertaste. Gets better if you persevere but not great.

Papsoe (25056) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 2, 2005
(Bottle 33 cl) Deep golden, filtered with a fairly tall head. Very pronounced bitterness - and nothing much more really. The chestnut doesn’t really add any flavour. Quite a disappointment. 150202
