12 ounce glass at the brewpub, July 24th. Fairly clear gold with a bit of head that lasts throughout, clear...faint grainy-sweet malt nose and alas a hint of something rotten in Denmark (or Machesney Park), DMS I think, though as it warms this fades away, still not the most inviting or interesting aromas...moderately strong sweetness throughout, alcohol presence is felt, drinkable enough but for the relatively weak and thin mouthfeel, though again that improves a bit as it warms; unfortunately the alcohol and sweetness also grow and it becomes a little bit like drinking a malt liquor by the finish. Draft pour as part of a flight at Pig Minds brewery. Orange with no head. Vanilla notes on the nose. Decent lager SotallyTober (113) - Channahon, Illinois, USA - NOV 15, 2014
Pours a cloudy gold, with a thick off white head. Above average carbonation. Has a sweet grain aroma. Taste is the same, grain, floral, and grassy. Light body that went down easy. Decent overall just a little bland to me. Brigadier (3750) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - AUG 30, 2014

I was definitely on the fence after finishing my sampler of this so called session beer. Perhaps it was the ABV being 7.6% but it drinks a little too heavily for more than a single pour. It might have been the intent of the brewer to push the envelope in that regard but personally I like my golden ales to not fill me after 12 to 16 ounces.
Aroma / Appearance - A cloudy coppery base is paired with a crisp vanilla head. Crisp wheat, sweet caramel, and malts hang in the air like a light fog. The balance is done well and presents many facets without one dominating too much.
Flavor / Palate - Clean wheat and lemon flow freely over the tongue despite the higher gravity. Delayed hops emerge after a few seconds. A dash of warm pie crust adds to a notable finish. Put together into a single package it tastes almost like somebody poured a pecan pie into a glass then diluted it.
Sample at the brewpub. Hazy straw color with a medium white head that burns away steadily to a film. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of grassy hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of herbal hops, biscuit malt and fruit. The finish is mildly bitter with a slightly spicy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Tap at PM. Hazy tan-orange. Kind of bland, straightforward. Boring Golden malt, sort of a sterilized Steam beer. Not one I’ll revisit. Drinkable, middle of the road. HonkeyBra (4044) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - SEP 20, 2013
32 oz. half growler. Pours a nice golden color with a big white head. Aroma is floral with nice crisp hop notes, touches of pilsner and golden malt. Flavor is mildly fruity, floral, some spiciness. Medium bodied, nice texture. Decent, nice golden ale. cbfobes (2891) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - OCT 8, 2012
On tap at the brewery, pours a pale light yelow with a thin head, the aroma is of sweet grain and corn, the flavor is of corn on the front end with a sweet finish, completely blown away that the ABV is as high as it is, could not tell at all, I could drink a lot of this on a hot day and probably get in trouble. jmagnus87 (3302) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - AUG 29, 2012
5oz sampler at Pig Minds. Pours a lightly hazy gold. Lightly sweet aroma. Grains and corn with a hint of caramel malt. Taste is lightly sweet. Mostly caramel and grains. Light bodied with texture I can only describe as average. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, not bad. Nothing to write home about but I could absolutely session the shit out of this beer.
