Draft at the source, staff choice. Clear dark amber color, tan head. Cocoa aroma. Taste has chocolate and caramel. Nice. maekchu (4202) - Hirakata, JAPAN - JUL 5, 2016
Bottle brought by the brewery manager and shared at Tadg’s. Roasty nose, with lightly spicy hopping. Clear bright reddish/brown color. Caramel, light molasses, and tangy piney hop. The roast notes increase in mid palate. Thin-medium body. Pretty sweet, overall, moderated by substantial hopping. A nice take on what can be be one of the most boring of styles. This one won a Gold Medal in the English-Style Brown Ale category at the World Beer Cup 2016. KyotoLefty (11020) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUL 3, 2016
