We also call this the “Morning After Stout,” because it’s a perfect way to ease the pain on the morning after a night of celebrating. By combining our 1762 Russian Imperial Stout with maple syrup and cinnamon, we created a beer that is both bold and comforting, with a flavor that unmistakably reminds us of your mom’s french toast.

Can from flandersned. Thanks! The beer is a near black with a grey head that dissipates quickly. It was barely there to begin with. The aroma has huge maple, cinnamon, and roasty coffee notes. French toast is an apt descriptor, because that is what it reminds me a good deal of. Sweet syrup goodness, with a roasty backbone to sustain it and keep it interesting. Bigger body, but I think the syrup actually thins it out a bit. Medium carbonation. Really enjoyed this one.

Can fromtge ClownMan! Aroma is huge in maple. Moderate cinnamon. Pitch black. Small tannhead. Taste is moderate bitter for such a sweet nose. Modest cinnamon. Some alcohol. Decent but not mind blowing.

12 ounce can shared at Todd’s. Dark in the pour with a ton of maple syrup throughout and a little bit of cinnamon.

12 oz. can thanks to Willrunforbeer. Aroma is awesome. Maple syrup, vanilla bean, pancake batter, chocolate.

I wish the flavor lived up to the aroma. This stout is overly sweet. Maple, vanilla and sugar is over the top. Totally unbalanced with a thin body. It is like maple dumped into a stout and made the body thin. It is almost like drinking Maple syrup right from the bottle. Sorry just being honest. Going against the grain on this one.

Chalumeaux (1850) - Middleton, Massachusetts, USA - APR 20, 2017
Poured from can thanks Willrunforbeer nice cola color good lacing thin cocoa head. Aromas of maple syrup malt coffee and vanilla. Taste is overly sweet maple vanilla and there is a lingering roasty bitterness. If this were barrel aged it might balance out the sweetness.

12oz can from umich03jm. Thanks, Jason! Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is like chocolate French toast with too much maple syrup. Flavor is sweet chocolate, vanilla, maple up front, with tannic bitterness in the finish. This is a bit too sweet and the flavor doesn’t live up to the aroma.

Can. Pours black with tan head. Aroma is Maple French Toast. Taste is and bitter chocolate with notes of cinnamon and Maple (does taste like French Toast) with a maple french toast finish. Pretty damn good and only imagine it gets better as it warms.

JaBier (8396) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - APR 13, 2017
Can. Pours black with a thick light brown head. Nose of malt, coffee, vanilla and maple. Malt and coffee flavor with maple and rich chocolate before a vanilla and mocha finish.
