Cloudy orange-amber color; small head. The aroma is not very fresh, a bit smelly indeed, old and yeast, a bit sourish and puckery. Good toffee flavor; it’s not too dry but not sweet at all, just the good balance to improve drinkability; good bitterness level, light hop resins and hop oils, very light cream; very light sourness again. Good, but I suspect not very fresh.
Tap at Pike Pub & Brewery, Seattle - 09/11/12.
Lightly hazed mid amber with a thin off white head that soon clears to the edges and forms a pond.
Nose is caramel malt, hops, light tropcial fruit notes - not very busy really!
Taste follows, pine, hops, touch of mango and grapefruit.
Medium bodied with light prickly carbonation, bitter finish..
Drinkable but more entry level IPA than anything nearing great! harrisoni (18432) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 16, 2006
On tap at Pike Pub, Seattle. Copper, beige head. Earthy hop grapefruit, cascadey, resinous. Reasonable in mouth. Intense IPA hop finish with more grapefruit. Very astringent. Good intensity. Malts disappear relatively quickly to leave astringent earthy hop finish. It’s fine if a little basic and simple saxo (18208) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - JUL 29, 2012
