Pours a clear copper brown on tap with thin ring of bubbly off-white head that leaves light lace. Aroma and taste of typical scotch ale, earthy hops, sweet and dark malts, a hint of fruity esters, booze is lighter here. Decent. ReidBix (27) - - JUN 30, 2017
Had this yesterday but I totally forgot to write it down. Pretty decent, bit heavy and dark

On tap at brewery on 1st Street, downtown Seattle. Pours clear amber with minimal off-white head and lacing. Aroma: mild whiff of caramel. Flavor: malt-forward; caramel, brown sugar, overly ripe pear, smokey peat to offset sweetness. My son accurately describes it as a roller-coaster ride: sweet, smokey, then fruity. Mouthfeel: medium-bodied, oily, soft on palette. Headbanger (4009) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - MAR 7, 2017
Draft 8/28/16 (Pike Brewery-SEA)-Pours a colish brown with a small head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and slight smoke. Taste of the same. This medium bodied brew is not bad but I was expecting more. Heidbummer (732) - SCOTLAND - FEB 22, 2017
Taster at brewpub. Pours deep gold. Smoke dominates the aroma. Thickish mouthfeel, soft, almost honeyed. The smoke again dominates, to the detriment of what could have been an otherwise very good beer.

On tap at Pike Brewing. The scotch flavour is dialed back and much more to my liking than most others. hershiser2 (3533) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - NOV 23, 2016
Bomber from total wine. Cola colter with a soft beige head. Aroma of vegetation, a little funk. Taste is caramel, light smoke, dark tangy fruit, rubber, earth. Very interesting.

Bottle, courtesy of Arun. Reddish brown colour. American view of what a beer from Scotland looks like but none the worse for that. Not overly smoky thank god, sweetish malty ale with a correct if mild bitterness keeping it drinkable. Nice enough. bulldogops (2726) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 20, 2016
Rating #1908 - 2015.09.24 #CraftTakesSeattle Beer 7 - Flight at taproom Light brown amber pour with a bubbly tan foam with little retention. Aroma is roasted malts, toffee, vanilla, oak, honey, mild peat smoke. Taste is quite sweet at first, prolonged oaky vanilla, light tobacco, toffee sweetness and the presence of oak in the body. I enjoyed this beer more as it started to warm. Very nice medium-full body, mild alcohol note on the palate which is typical for the style, and lots of rich sweetness.
