This is a credible but slightly failed experiment--to create a session ale that satisfies someone who’d rather be drinking an IPA. They’ve tried to give it hop punch, a little body and malt, while keeping the alcohol down. It almost works. The hops are definitely present, a nice peppery zip, and the malt is trying--if not succeeding--at holding up its end. The whole thing finishes badly, though, with a hollow, tinny flavor, the hops fading to an unpleasantly harsh note with nothing to hold them up.
On tap at brewery on 1st Street, downtown Seattle. Pours clear yellow-orange with a trace of off-white head and lacing. Aroma: honey, shortbread cookie, lemon. Flavor: malt-forward (light brown sugar, honey). Mouthfeel: medium-bodied, trace tongue bitterness in the finish. 60minuteman (1712) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 8, 2017
UPDATED: MAR 11, 2017 Bottle at I-Pasta. A spicy golden lager. Hopped up Miller Lite. Good balance and aftertaste between straw, hop, malt and spice. Keeps it interesting and fun to drink. Headbanger (3999) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - MAR 7, 2017
Sampler 8/28/16 (Pike Brewery-SEA)-Pours golden with a small head. Aroma of malt, hops, and grains. Taste of the same. This light bodied brew is a surprise as I was not expecting much. Heidbummer (642) - SCOTLAND - FEB 22, 2017
Taster at brewpub. Smells of honey, looks like a lager. It’s fizzy and sweet and really not that good. deanso (10129) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - FEB 6, 2017

Draft at the Taproom, Bangkok. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is malt, light hop bitter, some citrus. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a watery light crisp, light fruit, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Way too light all around and with little flavour. StevieT (2012) - AUSTRALIA - NOV 25, 2016
On tap at Pike Brewing. A well made and dangerously drinkable beer, hoppy enough to be interesting but not a face punch. Good stuff. hershiser2 (3205) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - NOV 23, 2016
Bomber from total wine. Pours golden with a large white head, lacing nicely down the side of the glass. Aroma of citrus hops, sugar, melon, honey. Flavor is honey water, floral hops, bread crumbs, grasses, light citrus. Minus the honey sweetness this is tasty... just needs a little less of the sugary sweetness.

Rating #1906 - 2015.09.24 - #CraftTakesSeattle Beer 4 - Flight at Pike Taproom. Clear golden pour, steady white foam that bubbles away slowly to a soapy ring. Aroma is grassy malts, hints of caramel, peach, orange. Taste is a mild sweetness, honey, citrus followed by a mild hop bite. Pleasant.
