COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Assertive hoppy & floral west coast style IPA. Pike Space Needle Golden IPA is generously brewed with five varieties of Yakima Valley aroma and flavoring hops. We then dry hop it with whole-cone Columbus, Summit and Centennial hops, which impart a floral aroma that has catapulted this beer to one of Pike Brewing customer’s favorite IPA’s. This beer won a blind tasting competition to be the commemorative beer for the Space Needle’s 50th anniversary in 2012. It was so well received that it has been added to Pike’s year round collection. It was 1962 and the world came to Seattle for the World’s Fair and its futuristic symbol, the Space Needle. The beer served at the ‘62 World’s Fair? Likely nothing at all like this west coast style IPA, generously brewed with five varieties of Yakima Valley aroma and flavoring hops. We then dry hop it with whole-cone Columbus, Summit and Centennial hops, which impart a floral aroma that has catapulted this beer to one of Pike Brewing customer’s favorite IPA’s.
MALT VARIETIES: Munich, Cara-Pils, Malted Wheat
HOP VARIETIES: Chinook, Cascade, Centennial, Columbus, Summit

Smell of grapefruit; medium mouthful, nice carbonation, a bit of spice/heat on the tongue. Bitterness more in the aftertaste. Very drinkable IPA.

Solid IPA. High bitterness. Not a sprightly mouthfeel, but has substance to it. Good zing. Hop notes lean more towards resin. Recommended.

Bottle brought back fresh from the brewery by my wife two weekends ago. My wife is AWESOME! Pours a very hazy honey gold with a lively bubbly off white head that retains splendidly. Aroma is exactly what I want from a fresh PNW IPA: tons of pine and grapefruit rind. The palate likewise is bursting with fresh hoppy goodness, oily and luxurious, with a long lasting bitter finish. This is such a treat!

Happy Ipa day! Pours a hazy golden brown with a a nice off white head with great lacing. Smells of Pine, grapfriut and caramel. Tastes like all the smells I mentioned above plus vanilla. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy and a dry finish. Overall this is very balanced for an Ipa and the best I’ve had from Pike Brewing so far.

Bomber. Bright tropical fruit aroma with notes of grapefruit hop citrus and floral hops. Pours cloudy golden colored with a large, soapy off-white head with good retention and lacing. Starts with tropical fruit and grapefruit citrus flavor. Finishes dry, but still quite smooth for an IPA with slight floral hop bitterness. Excellent IPA.

Bottle from QFC - Seattle (Ballard)
Hazy amber color. Nice aroma, the hop provides a delicate fruity side. Strong body, it has a good caramel flavor, and strong hops, mainly resiny and piney; long final.
Powerful but easily drinkable.

Bottle. Pours a hazy copper color with a relatively thin white head. Nose has some nice floral hops in there. Taste has a good amount of bitterness with a bit of citrus. Nice, crisp and refreshing.

Unclear dark orangey amber. Big frothy creamy white lasting head. Aroma towards fruity and sweet, a little spicy. Bigger light body. Flavor is grapefruit orange floral grass pine biscuit. Nice moderate grassy, pine and grapefruit bitterness which lingers. Hop forward with just enough malt to balance. Really comes together nicely. Good stuff.

Golden pour, white head. Sweet aroma of honey and floral hops. Balanced bitterness with grapefruit and dank earthy hop flavor. Very good ipa.
