COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Assertive hoppy & floral west coast style IPA. Pike Space Needle Golden IPA is generously brewed with five varieties of Yakima Valley aroma and flavoring hops. We then dry hop it with whole-cone Columbus, Summit and Centennial hops, which impart a floral aroma that has catapulted this beer to one of Pike Brewing customer’s favorite IPA’s. This beer won a blind tasting competition to be the commemorative beer for the Space Needle’s 50th anniversary in 2012. It was so well received that it has been added to Pike’s year round collection. It was 1962 and the world came to Seattle for the World’s Fair and its futuristic symbol, the Space Needle. The beer served at the ‘62 World’s Fair? Likely nothing at all like this west coast style IPA, generously brewed with five varieties of Yakima Valley aroma and flavoring hops. We then dry hop it with whole-cone Columbus, Summit and Centennial hops, which impart a floral aroma that has catapulted this beer to one of Pike Brewing customer’s favorite IPA’s.
MALT VARIETIES: Munich, Cara-Pils, Malted Wheat
HOP VARIETIES: Chinook, Cascade, Centennial, Columbus, Summit

Exceeded my expecatations. This was an assertive, well balanced IPA. Pours light orange with good head. Hoppy, bitter nose. Piney and refreshing with a light body and clean finish. Good IPA.

Bottle from Total Wines, Sterling VA. Deep gold in colour, with a decent, white, head. Plenty of grassy hops, tangerine and grapefruits, crisp balancing malts, before a dryish, hoppy finish. Good.

caustic and a bit harsh on the hop side. big grapefruit pith. a bit chewy and decent funky dank malt backing it up. lingers.

Pours a clear golden orange on tap with fluffy off-white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of mild citrus and floral hop notes over sweet pale malts. Taste is more balanced toward the malt, but clean and easy. The best I had all day from them.

At the source: pours golden with a white head. Aroma is light bit of citrus and resin. Taste is moderately bitter with sufficient malty sweetness. Some resin and the like Ok.

Can from Total. Pours out a murky golden amber color with a light tan head. Notes of herbal-lemon-floral tea with citrusy sweetness and sticky bitterness. Body is on the heavy side.

Bomber in the Pear deli, Pike Market. Copper color.aroma with flowers and pine. Flavor of dry malt and even drier hops, more flowers, grass, hay. Dry finish. An old style ipa, but good.

hershiser2 (3697) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - JUL 8, 2017
Can from Total Wine, South Richmond. Pours hazy amber with a large, soft beige head. Aroma is floral and citrus hops, some hand soap, some pine, some resin. Flavor is hand soap all the way. This is what hand soap would taste like if if I ate it and it tasted like I imagined it to rather than what it really does. Citrus peel, floral hops, a little tropical fruitiness. Its good.

On tap at Pike brewing, pours a pale orange golden with a small off white head. Sweet malt and sweet citrus aroma with light pine. Nice assertive bitterness meeting sweet malt, citrus lemon and grapefruit. Solid.
