Tap. Arcade Beers, Huddersfield. Hazy, very dark brown. Messy swirl of tan head. Nose has milky chocolate. Sweet, roast malts. Coffee grinds. Some coconut and almond. Taste is light, milky sweet, with some roast coffee, roast malt bitterness. Palate lets things down a bit. Light, and way too fizzy. Chocolate and coffee bitter finish.

Poured from keg at Junkyard, half-pint shared with Finn. Jet black body. Bright naked surface. Minimal lacing. Mocha smell, nicely roasted. Roasted black malty flavours with hints of cocoa and coffee. Prolonged ending. Likable mid-sweet stout (Saturday pub crawl in Nottingham 20.02.2016).

On draft at Carters tap. Pours dark black with a hint of red, beautiful long lived fawn head. Aromas of coffee, cocoa, malts, molasses. Taste is dry cocoa powder, bitter coffee grind, full body and long finish. Really good.

Cask @ The Grove, Huddersfield. Black with a frothy off-white head. Has a very stated coffee roasted malt aroma and taste with a dryness.

Cask at Teuchters Landing, Leith. Dark, almost purplish brown. Catches the light quite nicely. Little bit of khaki head. Milky coffee and a bit of chocolate and caramel on the nose, the taste has a welcome bitter edge alongside the chocolately sweetness. Bodys a bit flat, but I can live with that... a pretty good stout.
