It is called the "model of meter" among beers. All other pilsners are a better or worse attempt to copy the original - the first ever Pilsner Urquell. Its unparalleled exceptionality is guaranteed by the same recipe dating from 1842.

   AROMA 4/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 8/10   PALATE 5/5   OVERALL 15/20

Reviewed 12/21/2012. 12 fl oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a perfectly clear golden straw color. The head is a fluffy two finger white color with surprising retention (for a macro lager). Good lacing, too. S: AARGH LIGHTSTRUCK!!! Beneath the unfortunate skunk in the aroma, there lies simple pale malts and zesty noble hoppiness. T: Thank smeg the flavor is a massive improvement. Initially, some fruity esters greet the palate, before the zesty, refreshing finish...AND IT’S GONE! Holy shit, did I finish the beer that quickly? It’s hardly BCBS, but as far as simple macro-brewed lagers go, this one’s the best in the business. M: The palate feel seems perfectly tailored to provide crisp refreshment. There’s this real sense of subtle delicacy that separates this not only from the BMC stalwarts, but numerous craft lagers as well. The bitter aftertaste is fantastic for what this beer is trying to accomplish. O: A damn shame about the skunky nose - luckily the rest of the beer easily compensates by offering everything you could want in a proper pilsner. Could be a go to for me in cans/on tap.

Butelka 06.08.18. Złote klarowne piana szybko się redukuje. W aromacie diacetyl, mokre zboże, lekki skunks. W smaku dużo lepiej wytrawne ale jednak słodkie, biszkoptowe, może trochę nawet karmelowe. Jest też ziołowy chmiel. Goryczka zaznaczona trochę długa ale bez przesady. Odczucie w ustach ok.

Great beer. Not usually a big Pilsner fan but I definitely enjoy this beer a lot. Would drink this a lot more if available ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

4 finger frothy, white head. Crystal clear, golden coloured beer.

Aroma is farty, light bread, light citrus and lightly herbal.

Taste is sweet corn, light bread and slightly minerally.

Mouthfeel is light and very lightly dry with a slight stickiness. Medium-high, soft carbonation. Low bitterness.

Overall: One of the, according to many, best Pilsners out there. Easy and pleasant to drink but not worth the praise. It doesn't have that disgusting metallic aftertaste that many cheap lagers tend to have, so that's a plus. Definitely a good pils, but that isn't saying much overall.
