This is a straightforward, well-crafted stout with relatively high but hidden ABV: drinks like ~6%. Plenty of dark roasted grain flavor. Excellent aroma. Light-medium, smooth body.
On tap at Pinglehead. Pours a dark brown with small tan head that lasts. The aroma is chocolate and roast. Medium mouth with coffee, light spice with herbal finish. hopscotch (11322) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - NOV 5, 2014
Draft... Pours murky and abysmally black with a mid-sized, creamy, khaki head. Great retention. The aroma is that of cafe con leche and mocha. Medium bodied with a dry mouthfeel and lazy carbonation. The flavor is unexpectedly burnt, bitter and carbonic. Coarse, dry finish. Aurelius (5590) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - SEP 7, 2013
Inky, with a thin filmy tan head. Tangy, light caramel, roast aroma. Vinegar and roast. Slipery mouth, decent CO2. Tangy finish. A bit disappointing, back-to-back with a a lot of really good brews from Florida. On tap, Proof Florida Tap Invitational, with PorterPounder. jcwattsrugger (12550) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - MAY 27, 2013

and you call me crazy?? .. . deep brown .. . mild foam .. . cheap coffee, roast, and ashy grains .. . pretty nice little beer .. . he acted as if he had been betrayed by the trail. It wasn’t, I guess, what he had expected. SpringsLicker (3682) - Tennessee, USA - MAR 1, 2013
On tap at the brewery RBWG. GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - FEB 26, 2013
Black body with a thin tan head.
Aroma is mostly roast malts.
Starts sweet with a roasty almost smoky middle.
Tap at Brewer’s Pizza for RBWG. Pours a clear, deeper cola. Decent beige foam. Nose is green/gamey coffee, animal, goat, caramel. Taste is coffee, earth, peppercorn, spice. Thin, tart, lemon acidic body. Sessionable, light, decent. Feels like 4%. jbruner (5401) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - FEB 25, 2013
Pours an opaque brownish-black on tap with thin lacy head that spots lightly in rings on the way down. Aroma of toasted oats, roasted malts, and coffee. Taste follows, with a bitter coffee finish on a medium mouth. Solid for the style, but nothing special. Leighton (22555) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 22, 2013
Tap at the brewpub, RBWG 2013. Pours black-brown with a light, tan cream head. Nice if mellow roasted malt nose. Light to medium sweet flavor, plenty of ashy roast now, bitter cocoa. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Modest bitter, earthy finish, charred wood, ash. Good one.
