4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
First beer I have tried at pinthouse. Really great balance of strong bitterness with sharp roasted flavors. Crisp and clean finish.
On tap at Burnet location. Pours black with medium tan head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is roasted malt, cracker, chocolate. Medium body, roasted malt, raisin, wood, dark chocolate, dry finish, very good. HonusWagner (2232) - Florida, USA - NOV 19, 2015
A bold roasty chocolatey fruity imperial stout. It’s pretty damn solid. The bitterness is atypical for style in this day and age but works nicely. Nice nice beer. Metallion66 (104) - - NOV 30, 2013
Pitch black pour with a dark brown head. Aroma is of roasted coffee, Big bold taste which is actually slightly bitter. Very solid brew, but the growler was way too pricey imo. lb4lb (2632) - Austin, Texas, USA - NOV 18, 2013
Smell is light roast coffee and chocolate. Taste is similar with a bit of alcohol and bourbon. Pretty tasty but a bit less bourbon character than jaguar shark and a bit more booze flavor I think. Solid but unremarkable. travita (5008) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JAN 28, 2013
Draught. The look is dark, black in color, thin tannish head, light tan head. The smell is roast, malt, burnt, coffee, and chocolate. The taste is roast, chocolate, malt, coffee , and good.

On tap (Batch 6). Pours with a black hued body and a medium sized tan head. Looks the part: menacing. Aromas are of licorice, ashy, toffee, lots of drying roast, a bit nutty malt, low hop. Flavors are of tobacco, dry, nutty, fudge and cocoa. Medium smoke character. Fuller bodied but dry on the finish. Medium-low carbonation. kidmartinek (5007) - austin, Texas, USA - NOV 5, 2012
Dark black beer. Skim milk consistentcy. Little tan bubbly head. Cool toasty malt and nutty aroma with a little bit of toffee. Cool taste with baking cocoa, and bitter toffee. Very smooth... no sign of 9.1 except how satisfied you feel at the end of the pint.
