Half Growler. It poured a dark brown / black color with a tan head. The aroma was of coffee, malts, dark fruits, whiskey and vanilla. The taste was similar with more coffee, malts, dark fruits, whiskey, vanilla, wood and toffee. Good stuff.

Sample at Gabf. Pours black with medium tan head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is roasted malt, wood, dark chocolate, vanilla, bourbon. Thick body, chewy, burnt coffee grounds, dark chocolate, wood, boozy finish, good.

Deep brown with strong tan head. Light bourbony aroma. Flavor is a sweet stout with light bourbon (vanilla, caramel, coconut) character.

Smells chocolatey! Tiny brown head and pitch black from tap (CO2). Mouth feel is a bit sharp carbonation and an oily smooth feel. Taste is super rich with chocolate, malty sweetness, but has a weird chalky finish. Not bad!

The 2013 version is listed at 10.5 percent and is aged in Four Roses barrels.

Black pour with a tan head. The aroma is full of huge barrel aged notes. I get a ton of chocolate and roasted malt as well as some whiskey character. The flavor is even more complex. I get some big chocolate and roasted malt as well as some vanilla, maple, oak and bourbon notes. Thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Great stout.
